Vehicle Detail
I've had this Jeep for 8 years and I don't use it enough to warrant keeping it, so it's going to a new home. It's a collectable Jeep in that it was made by Kaiser (see data plate affixed to firewall) and NOT by AMF. This means it's an early 1970. It has the original Buick Dauntless V-6 engine which starts easily and runs strong with no leaks or smoke. I bought it for $6500 all those years ago and put a ton of extra money into it: horn wiring, turn signal switch and lamps, front seats, bikini top, wiper motor, gauge cluster, new fuel tank sending unit and gas gauge, battery, transfer case, steering gear box (Saganaw) chrome headlight bezels and other stainless and chrome bits, glove box door, front steering stabilizer, front seat belts, wipers, emergency parking brake and cables, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more items. I did everything the Jeep needed. Don't get me wrong, it's still a Spartan vehicle with currently no doors, heater, radio or power anything. I'm starting this low with no reserve and will let you decide what it's worth. I mentioned Rust free and it is except some ancient holes in the bottom of the tool box. They were there when I bought the Jeep and haven't gotten any worse. They are not a structural issue at all. Also, the wiper works, but the linkage is hanging up on one side, so I don't use them and the side in question will need to be addressed. The paint looks beautiful except where the previous owner didn't prep the metal well and the paint is flaking off in those spots. Ninety five percent of the paint is excellent (black) with red (a previous paint job) showing thru in those spots. Comes with half doors It's not a restored queen, but a healthy good looking fun driver. I also have a NOS Bestop full enclosure kit from 1985 with a no longer offered "Blue Jeans" color, that includes full doors, mounting hardware and frames and everything to install a brand new (vintage) top that I will sell for $500. It appears to be lifted by 4 inches and has large tires, so I don't generally exceed 65 MPH as it bounces a lot over bumps, which I think is prudent, but then again maybe if I was younger I'd go faster, who knows.
