Vehicle Detail

For sale, extremely nice 1968 AMC Javelin SST. The car sat since the 80's in a Barn where it was discovered by the last owner, Who unfortunately could not get it back on the road. It was then purchased by my brother and I who completely stripped the car and put a nice factory look single stage paint job on it, in the original color. All brake hydraulic parts and brake hoses were replaced. The gas tank was removed and coated, fuel pump and fuel lines were replaced. The radiator was sent out, cleaned and repaired and the water pump replaced at that time along with the front cover gasket. The transmission fluid was flushed and filter replaced and all fluids changed. The odometer shows 29,000 miles and looks to be original judging from the mechanical components. (all original front end parts, tight/ no brake pedal wear)The car starts right up runs beautifully and shifts smoothly, this is an extremely nice driver. I would say the car is better than driver condition and would place in a local car show. The paint is very nice with only some small blemishes, However from close-up it looks great! You could leave the car as is and enjoy it for several years, Or add some small touches and take this car to the next level. The car has the 290 V8 rated at 200 hp. 2bbl carb, auto transmission. Overall body and paint;Had a small amount of rust behind the rear wheels (typical) which was repaired with new patch panels welded in. Doors, fenders, hood and trunk were rust free. All paint was stripped, body was straightened and a single stage PPG paint was applied (original color). All bumpers and chrome in nice original condition, not perfect, but very decent for the age. I would rate the paint and body work as a 7 out of 10, It shows extremely nice, however is not perfect. It is nicer than "driver quality" but not to the level of concourse. Upon very close inspection you will see small blemishes, but looks great from 5-10 ft. away. The car would place in a local car show. Interior; All original except new carpet, no rips in extremely nice original condition. Drivetrain;Nearly completely original, 290 V8 2bbl Auto. New water pump, fuel pump, points and filters. Looks like the transmission has a small drip when sitting and the rear main seal leaks a touch . Like I said this car is nearly original and has been sitting for more than 30 years. It starts right up, idles smooth, drives perfectly with virtually no noises. With that being said, UNDERSTAND THE CAR IS ALMOST 50 YEARS OLD!!!!!All hydraulic brake parts were replaced along with all brake hoses. This is an extremely cool entry level cruise night/ car show car or car be driven daily. Or a perfect project for the father and son, with very minimal improvements can be a spectacular AMC classic. Vehicle is available for inspection. Text questions to 630-999-3114 On Oct-19-15 at 16:34:04 PDT, seller added the following information: The vehicle does not have a warranty, I was not able to change that field. On Oct-20-15 at 11:24:12 PDT, seller added the following information: The radio is not factory and was installed in the 80's I'm not sure what is behind it or if anything was altered I have not removed it to look. All chrome and trim pieces are original and in good shape. The front bumper looks very good, rear bumper has some pitting, door handles and taillight housings also have some pitting. The inside armrests have some cracks. the window seals are original and could be replaced. As I said before, most everything on the car is original and was new in 1968!On Oct-24-15 at 13:26:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I found information that the car may actually have 129,000 miles rather than 29,000 as I posted, I cant be sure however figure the higher mileage. Sorry for any confusion
