Vehicle Detail
Untitled Document Up for auction is our ‘66 Chevy C10 long bed pickup truck. It’s equipped with the original 283 High Torque V8 engine & manual four speed transmission with the stock floor mounted shifter. It also has the original paint, although some has peeled off exposing the factory gray primer. The truck is also comes with an outstanding set of 15" Goodyear Wrangler tires. The C10 runs & has excellent oil pressure. But since it was in storage for a number of years it needs a complete tune up to make it purr. The clutch release bearing also makes some noise from non-use, which may go away once driven for awhile. The odometer shows 71,000 miles, and we were assured by the previous owner that these are original to the truck. So with a grain of salt, we’re passing that information on also. The doors still close with a solid “thunk” & over all the body, bed, and tailgate are in great condition with only a few minor dings & dents. But as is typical with old Chevy trucks, the rocker panels & lower front fenders have some rust damage. Fortunately, LMC Truck, Classic Industries and other suppliers, have solved this common problem by offering replacement panels at very reasonable prices. The floor boards are solid with only a couple of small areas of rust damage in the lower corners. The frame is in great condition with just a light coating of surface rust. The interior looks good & is all stock, including the steering wheel & horn button. The dash is still pretty nice, and is complete with the exception of the radio & heater control cables. Everything still works including the lights & horn. For anyone who appreciates cool old original trucks, this one is sure to make you smile. Also most car guys will recognize that it’s an ideal candidate for restoration. So we’re hoping that someone will put some love into this classic…and make a show piece out of it. To make that happen, the starting bid is only $1200 with no reserve price, so the high bidder will own this vintage truck! The high bidder is responsible to arrange for transportation of this car. We will be glad to coordinate with your shipper.
