This vehicle has only 148K Original Miles and for a BMW Diesel Engine it has many more miles to travel. Most of the miles racked up because this BMW spent most of its time in highway. I got this BMW from Fields BMW in Winter Park, FL. It was traded in by the Second Owner back in July. This vehicle comes equipped with Leather, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, BMW I-Drive system, Navigation, Six-disk CD Changer,Sunroof, Power Mirrors, Keyless Entry etc. It has a Black Metallic Exterior and the interior comes dressed in a very nice Black Leather Upholstery and in very good condition. Her range and the range of emotions she generated were equally impressive. Our record for a full tank of ULSD took us 545.9 miles on 16.158 gallons, an average of 33.7 mpg. Yes, we've had others take us farther on less fuel and faster for a lot more, but none made the combination of performance and economy quite so enjoyable. So here�s BMW�s first diesel offering in the U.S. in almost a quarter-century. But as you survey the tempting array of 3-series cars, you may be asking, �So what? Why should I care about this oil burner?� It�s not because you�re gonna save a bundle on fuel. Check our statistical sidebar. Yes, the 335d has better EPA fuel-economy ratings�23 city, 36 highway, 27 combined�than either of the 3-series gasoline burners. A 328i automatic is expected to achieve 18/28/22, and the 335i is rated at 17/26/20. But at this writing, ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (now the nationwide standard) costs about 15 percent more per gallon than premium gasoline. Factor in the higher cost of the car�with a base price of $44,725, the 335d is the most expensive non-M member of the 3-series�and the math gets worse. The feds will give you a $900 tax credit on this diesel, but even so, you�re looking at a $1575 disparity between a 335d and a 335i automatic. So the answer isn�t savings. The answer lies in what you value as a driver. The 335d�s three-liter six-cylinder inline twin-turbo diesel engine with common-rail, high-pressure direct fuel injection with piezo injectors and two-stage turbo charging produces 265 hp and an incredible 425 pound-feet of torque. To put the car�s power into perspective, the M3 generates a mere 295 pound-feet of torque. There�s so much torque that BMW had to use electronics to keep the rear tires from spinning out of control. You may wonder, with all this launch muscle on tap, why the 335d isn�t any quicker than it is. A 335i is capable of sprinting to 60 mph in fewer than five seconds. The 335d gets there in a little less than six�5.7 seconds for our test car. But check the gearing. The six speeds in the automatic are the same for both 335i and 335d, but the 335i�s rear diff is 3.46:1 versus the 335d�s much taller 2.81:1. At 80 mph, the diesel is turning at about 2000 rpm. Though the 335d possesses all the dynamic virtues that have made the 3-series a C/D 10Best winner 18 years running�precise steering, eager responses, supple ride�its driving style is distinctly different. In terms of powertrain, think 1956 Buick Roadmaster. To purists, this is heresy. But to guys out there fighting the stoplight wars, the 335d�s massive punch is very appealing. Consider the 2010 BMW 335d�s base price of $44,725 and you might be wondering if it�s worth a $3,600 jump over the 335i. Even when factoring in an available diesel tax credit, you�re still talking about a $2,700 gap, though the 335d does come standard with an automatic transmission instead of the 335i�s manual. But dig deeper into the numbers and you�ll see that the 335d balances the books in fewer than 23,000 miles, which for many drivers, is traveled in less than two years. Based on current prices of $2.74/gallon for diesel and $2.85/gallon for premium unleaded, the 27-mpg (overall) 335d requires $0.10 of fuel for every mile traveled, whereas the 20-mpg 335i requires $0.22 of high-octane fuel per mile. That�s a $0.12 per mile savings for the 335d, which offsets any base price disadvantage in 22,500 miles. Balance things out by adding a $1,325 automatic tranny to the 335i, and you�re at a wash within 13,125 miles BMW�s 335d is this country�s most fuel-efficient luxury sport sedan. When it comes to top-rated fuel-efficiency from currently-available mass-market passenger cars, there�s no topping the Toyota Prius. But that car, like its corporate cousin the Lexus HS 250h, doesn�t exactly deliver the driving excitement one would expect from a BMW. Another Lexus, the GS 450h hybrid, is an impressive ride in its own right, but doesn�t match the 335d�s fuel economy figures, and specs for the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E350 Bluetec have not been officially announced. In terms of luxury sport sedans available in the U.S., the diesel-powered Bimmer is top-dog on the miles-per-gallon front. Condition There is No Rust on the vehicle. Driving the 335d (DIESEL) one learns what it must feel like to be a deity when freed from the shackles of place and time and the cares and worries that haunt ordinary drivers. The 335d (DIESEL) engine runs without sound or vibration at idle and normal speeds. It has more power than even the largest military Hummer, yet when pushed merely makes a slight whooshing sound while objects from afar get very big very fast and evaporate in your rear view mirror almost instantly. Shifting through the gears the 335d (DIESEL) gives no jerking forward and back, but instead offers continuous, unbroken smooth acceleration more like a silent turbine jet engine. The 335d (DIESEL)'s ground speed exceeds the speed at which aircraft lift off, and ten 335d (DIESEL) have more power than a locomotive with a lot less weight and noise. While moving the 335d (DIESEL) reminds one that it costs over five times what a normal Car does not by excess, but by the absence of all the little noises, inconveniences and compromises of lesser cars. They are strong, durable and get great mpg. Well it is a true fact that the older German cars are easier to maintain and less cost compared to the new ones. Back in the 90's to own one of these fine German cars you either have to be rich, old, or a drug dealer if you were my age back in the day. Everybody knows during that time if you owned a Mercedes or BMW, you had money and in that time of era cars wont even close to a Mercedes and BMW. Even Lexus was no where to being close to design and style. 20 years ago most cars were cheaply made but Mercedes and BMW were always Over Engineered during that time. This 335d (DIESEL) needs nothing for inspection runs and drives great (will go anywhere).
