This 1973 Volvo 1800ES is an excellent daily driver for the individual that wants to purchase a clean car without the need to work on it to begin enjoying it. The suspension has had a new set of Bilstein front and rear shock absorbers installed with the rears custom valved for compression and rebound from Bilstein for the 1800ES purchased from Vintage Performance Developments. The standard compression and rebound rates for the Bilstein shocks are to firm for the 1800ES. A new set of progressive rate front springs and standard rate rear springs have also been installed on the car. New Rear axle limiting straps installed. The engine has just 72K miles on the odometer which is believed to be accurate however for reliability we purchased and installed all new hoses, original hose clamps, fan viscous clutch assembly, and a fuel injection rubber boot kit. We replaced the upper and lower injector seals, re-terminated each injector lead, and replaced all of the injector harness connectors with brand new ones. A valve adjustment was performed and set to factory specifications. A new cast aluminum Volvo valve cover and gasket were installed. The engine has no oil leaks and does not burn any oil. The idle was just adjusted on the intake manifold and the engine runs very smoothly. The body and paint on the car are in very good condition as it was repainted approximately five years ago in the original Volvo code 111-2 Light Blue Metallic paint. New door rubber seals have been recently installed. There is no rust of any kind on the car as it originally was driven in California and had limited exposure to the elements being well maintained and used sparingly. The interior is Volvo code 460-888 Blue and is in very good condition with no rips, tears. The seats have had the seat bottoms re-foamed recently using medium density and high density foam to provide greatly improved support. New Cowl panels have been installed (kick panels) as a previous owner had installed surface mounted speakers which we removed. The original AM/FM radio installed in the car works and is wired for speakers however the new owner can determine where they would like to mount the speakers when they purchase the car. The Auxiliary Air Control Valve has been replaced with a re-manufactured unit which was rebuilt at the Bosch factory in Germany and is under warranty. This 1800ES has the 4 speed manual transmission with electric overdrive which operates smoothly in all gears with the overdrive providing a nice reduction in engine rpm for cruising at highway speeds. A recent service changing all fluids ie engine oil, oil filter, gearbox oil, differential fluid, as well as a drive-shaft rebuild kit replacing the center support bearing and u-joints along with the rear pinion seal. Brakes are in very good condition with recent brake pad replacement and complete brake system flush. All instruments in the car function correctly with the exception of the clock which is presently inoperable. A spare clock will be provided to the new owner to replace the defective instrument. The car comes with the factory air conditioning system (Volvo dealer Installed) which was removed some time ago by the previous owner. All components are provided to install the system with the exception of the a/c hoses and a new drier which will need to be replaced. The original spare wheel and tire, factory jack and tool kit/pouch is provided. Factory owner’s manual and service manuals are included. An original windshield chrome trim and rear window trim will be provided which are presently wrapped and in boxes. I am able to assist with worldwide shipping, and live close to shipping ports.
