This 1974 Chevrolet El Camino is a really great project truck. All the difficult bodywork has been completed on an otherwise very solid body, it just needs finished and painted. Vehicle runs, drives and stops and includes many extra parts as well. When finished it would make a cool shop truck, delivery truck or parts runner for someone's business! This is a good friends car, who has way too many projects so we are cleaning out his garage so we can focus on just one project and fund it the funds from our "garage sale" of all his projects and great deals he seems to find! Mechanically this truck appears to need very little so it could be a nice entry level or base for a project car or a quick flip. Finish -- Grade INC: There is no paint.....so you have a clean palette to start with, you decide the color and finish type! Body -- Grade B: Overall this is a very solid and clean truck. It has had new GM rear quarters installed, has a solid bed and all other sheet metal. It also has had new floor boards installed. It comes with two nice rear tailgates. There is a set of sport mirrors for the car and I found the hood ornament in the glovebox as well as all the side marker lights. Frame -- Grade A: Is straight and free of any rust or scale, no signs of any metal repair from collision. Bumpers - Grade B+: Comes with 2 rear bumpers and a front bumper, not installed. Good used chrome should clean up nice, all brackets appear to be present Bright work -- Grade B: It appears all the brightwork is present but not installed, will need light clean up and polishing. Front Grille will need detailing and has some light patina. Glass Grade F/B : Front windshield is broken. Side windows are very nice and free of chips and scratches. Rear window is original and is in good shape also included is an aftermarket slider window, with some window tinting that needs some help, but I open daily to get some ventilation in with no issue. Missing most of the weather-stripping and window "fuzzies" which will need to be replaced. Interior INC: The interior is also a clean palette as well. It was tan, and comes with all the door panels, but also comes with black door panels as well. Interior color could easily be changed at this point to whatever you desired. Dash is complete and assembled, it has an AM factory Delco radio that works. Bench seat is complete with a small tear in the lower corner of the driver's side. It comes with new black carpet. Dash is free of cracks but need some serious cleaning Wheels Grade OK: Factory steel wheels, includes two center caps. Tires Grade OK: Four round tires that hold air and roll, unsure of age Suspension Grade OK: Visual inspection, complete, in working order, no signs of wear or disrepair. Exhaust Grade A- : New 2" dual exhaust with Cherry Bomb mufflers and tailpipes out the back Rear-end/Differential Grade OK: Factory rear end, unsure of gear, no leaks, no clunks or noises. Ignition Grade OK: Stock appearing factory style HEI distributor, engine runs with no misses. Air Conditioning/Heater Grade C: A/C car, all cables and vents move freely, blower switch broken in dash, but comes with another switch, did not test A/C, but compressor has belt on and engages. Transmission Grade OK: Appears to be original, drives and shifts nicely, does have a slight pan leak. Fluid is clean and smells fresh Brakes Grade OK: Power Brakes, Front disc and rear drum brakes. Strong pedal, work well Engine Grade B: Factory original 400 2 bbl. carburetor motor. Starts and runs well. No smoke at start up, no knocks or ticks, no serious leaks of any kind. New Aluminum Radiator Summary: This a great project for the paint and body guy, appears to be complete but there may be a piece of trim missing here and there. We tried to go through it but can not be certain we missed something. Really all that has been dismantled is the body trim for painting, and the door panels. As I stated it runs and drives well. Basically it is a stalled project, which is one of the best deals to find. You could complete this car and enjoy it or even finish it and turn around and sell it!
