Vehicle Detail
1969 Camaro Z28 "King of the Street" X275 Race CarPreviously campaigned by Darrin Hoyle Although this car is subtle at first glance it is no ordinary 1969 Camaro. The stock appearance and small 10.5 slick will fool most, but this all aluminum 598 cubic inch powered Camaro is a purpose built race car. Previously, this was Darrin Hoyle's X275 "King of the Street" race car. For those not familiar with Darrin Hoyle, he is a drag racing champion, set many records, and known world wide for his elaborate built Camaro race cars. This car is no exception and at 3,000 lbs still runs low 5.teens in the 1/8th mile. The chassis (suspension, cage, sheet metal fabrication) on this car was built by Teddy Houser Race Cars to meet the rules of the class and is an exceptional build. The paint on the car is slick but does have the occasional flaw from use and age (but VERY presentable). The exterior sheet metal on the car is all GM, and the doors and trunk function like new. The Cowl hood is a very High quality fiberglass hood bolted to original style hood hinges with the original style latch assembly. Hood pins were added up front. Once the hood is opened the first thing that jumps out at you (other than the massive 598 aluminum big block) is the stock "appearing" engine bay including the original firewall (still has the body tag), inner wheel wells with factory appearing hardware, and a factory radiator support. This car still has the factory frame rails (both front and rear), and factory style floor pans. The subframe was connected and professionally braced by Teddy Houser Race Cars. The mini tubs and rear firewall look excellent and the cage was certified to 8.50. The interior is very presentable and still has the stock Camaro dash, dash pad, gauges, headliner, console, pedals, carpet, factory TILT column, and door panels with correct trim. All added gauges and switch panels are high end and excellent quality. Headlamps and headlight doors function properly. This is a strong running race car and leaves straight! Don't miss this opportunity to own this iconic example of 1969 Camaro Race Car. This car does have a clean title.
