Vehicle Detail

32chev5 store The X-90 is something of a “Swiss Army” knife of cars. Built on a strong, ladder-type frame it shared with the Sidekick, the X-90 is a rugged, go just about anywhere under any conditions, type of car and yet it is undeniably cute, highly visible, and attractive. I live in the mountainous part of central Utah not far from Redford’s Sundance ski and summer movies resort. Travel between 5,500 and 8,000 feet is routine. In winter, the snow is deep, and can appear without warning. I have never seen a better snow and ice vehicle than this one and that includes all the Subarus, of which we have many around here. I acquired this X-90 thinking I would never give it up and began a systematic redo of every maintenance item. If I didn’t know the condition I replaced it. This car had been very meticulously maintained mechanically and cosmetically before I got it but I still left nothing to chance. So new as of between three and five months ago are: all belts and hoses including all clamps; all filters, water pump, timing belt, all electrical tune up items, new radiator, all wheel bearings were replaced, brakes were completely gone through including rotors, pads and hydraulic cylinders both front and rear, all serviceable air conditioning parts, front struts and rear shocks, muffler and tail pipe, valve cover gasket, and a range of other gaskets (have but not replaced oil pan gasket). I am probably forgetting something. Work was performed by ACE certified mechanic who is available on request for his overall evaluation of the car. The Suzuki dealer serviced the transmission (not cheap) and it shifts strongly, without any hesitation. Please remember this is the Suzuki four speed with overdrive automatic not the manual or the three speed automatic. The overdrive gear is about the same final drive ratio as the 5th gear in the manual. The automatic makes city driving a breeze and it goes down the highway just fine. It has ABS brakes, cruise control, good stereo—makes a fine driving machine despite its short wheelbase. As far as I know this X-90 has never been in a major accident. The previous owner’s wife drove the car for most of its life. It appears to have undergone one repaint in the original color. The paint job was professional showing no overspray. Body and T-Top are tight and rattle free. No rust at all anywhere. The glass is scratch free and in perfect shape. The windshield is new as of two weeks. Wipers are new. The tires have 75 percent tread remaining. I had the aluminum OEM wheels powder coated. I am selling for one reason only—I need a small 4WD pickup and have located one. I paid a premium for this exceptional Suzuki X-90 and then proceeded to invest a lot more. Although I hope it will bring more, my reserve is less than I originally paid on eBay even though it is an even better car now. The next owner will be the beneficiary. I don’t think there is any universally accepted value for these extraordinarily capable off roaders. This one is far too nice to cut up and use up as a hunting or competitive off roader. Would make a safe, economical, car for your daughter (or son) going off to college. It is reliable, safe, vehicle that has the virtue of not being able to hold the entire dorm room with all the accompany distractions. Sadly I can make no warranties and do not. It is sold with the usual “as is where is” condition attached. Still I stand behind my description and I have a long, successful record on eBay as you see. The vehicle can be driven to a new home. It goes down the road straight and true with no strange noises or vibrations. It is a good car and no doubt among the best X-90’s in the country. I am about an hour south of the Salt Lake City International Airport. Or you can arrange you own shipper. I have no idea about shipping costs, but there are many auto shippers out there ready for your business.
