1979 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Diesel *Thought the Cruiser was sold, this is now an Auction style listing. Good luck bidding on this beauty! For sale is my 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40. I bought this Cruiser in Costa Rica and when I returned to the US I imported it. It is one of the best driving BJ40 or FJ40s I have driven. These diesel Land Cruisers are very rare in the United States as they were never imported to our country. This truck is in original condition and is cosmetically and mechanically sound. It shows very well and is in overall great condition but with age comes small imperfections. There is a small tear in the driver's seat and the headliner has been replaced with white vinyl fabric. I still have the original headliner that was in it since new which you could have refurbished and reused to retain the original look and they can also be purchased new for $150. There has been a small amount of paint touchup which shows under certain lighting but overall has a nice paintjob which I believe is mostly original. There is no rust and the undercarriage is in excellent condition. The frame and tub are as solid as they come. The truck shifts smoothly and handles very well making this a great driver. When I bought the truck I tested the four wheel drive and everything worked as it should but sometime between then and now the little knob that you turn on the hub on the wheel popped off.
