Vehicle Detail

1974 Ford Bronco You are bidding on a one of a kind custom-built original1974 Ford Bronco 4x4 that was purchased from its original owners son in 2014. Chuck Bensted purchased this Bronco in 1974 for his wife. Chuck Bensted owned the Ford dealership in Kimball Nebraska from 1960-1979. The mileage is 100% correct for the entire life of this Bronco (8200.7), only 259 miles on new motor and complete build. Mrs. Bensted drove the car until they moved to Sacramento California in 1980. In 1982 the Bronco was parked and never moved until I purchased the vehicle in 2014. This Bronco still has it original paint, small scratches, one small dent in drivers fender, and all the original patina. We carefully disassembled the entire Bronco, realizing how original the bronco really was. We decided to go the extra mile to preserve but custom build it without jeopardizing any of the original sheet metal of the body and frame. Once taken apart we carefully wet sanded the original paint then buffed it out to the beautiful shine it has today. We had the complete inside Line-X matching the original Grabber Blue color. We hired All Phases Welding to custom build the front bumper, rear bumper, roll gage, and side steps. All components were customized to use the entire factory mounting brackets to the frame. All components were then powder coated, the steps were Line-X to match the interior. We then purchased a complete 3.5” James Duff Suspension along with a 2” blue anodized aluminum body lift (DETAILS BELOW). We decided to keep the original motor out of the bronco and purchased a new 302 high performance engine (SEE DETAILS BELOW). Once we received the new motor we had the transmission completely rebuilt to factory specs due to sitting for so long. We completely went through and replaced all brake lines with braided stainless ones. We replaced all fuel lines with upgraded lines to accept the ethanol in today’s fuel. We completed the fuel system with two new custom built (Made in the USA) fuel tanks from James Duff. The main tank was built to 25 gallons due to the extra room from the suspension and body lift. Once all the details were complete we started the assembly process. We carefully installed all components making sure not to mess up any of the original body and frame. Once completed we added a complete marine (waterproof) stereo system. We went the extra mile to hide all the wires inside the frame so nothing would show inside the vehicle. We then added custom LED headlights and 7 KC spot lamps that will light up anything you want to see from far away. Once fully completed we had a custom soft top made out of marine grade upholstery. We added zippers inside to make it easy to take on and off. To finish it off we added 5 aluminum Mickey Thompson 32” tires and rims. The winner of this auction will not only receive this beautiful custom original Ford Bronco, but they will also receive all original components. The winner will receive the original motor, original hardtop, 4 original aluminum rims, and 1 original spare tire. All 5 original rims have new tires already mounted and balanced and ready to go. As you will see by the photographs of this one of a kind survivor, No expense was sparred. This Bronco turns heads everywhere it goes and wins every show we have entered it into. Best if luck bidding!!! I have added one original picture. The winner will receive a flash drive full of picture documenting the build and when the Bronco was purchased in the original condition. THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK!!! EBAY LIMITS ME TO 1000 CHARACTERS IN RESPONDING TO A QUESTION, IN ALL FAIRNESS PLEASE SEE BELOW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS. First thank you in advance for the questions. I will respond directly to your answers in order. If you should have Any additional questions please do not hesitate to call me directly. 1) Who restored this and did all of the work? If yourself, give me some credentials/etc Answer: I own 33 collectible vehicles. I have been an automotive buff since I was 10 years old. I personally supervise the overall restoration process. I have had the same individuals/ companies facilitating my restorations for over 10 years. I have known these individuals for over 20 years each. The cars I have restored have won many national awards from numerous different car organizations (Top Flight, NCRS, National Oldsmobile, etc) I have restored cars that have been in magazines and photoed for posters. Below are the links of the two companies that mainly worked on this project. Brad Ranney is the co-owner of all phases welding and fabrication. He personally designed and fabricated every custom part on this bronco. No expense was spared. https://m.facebook.com/allphasesweldinc?refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fallphasesweldinc Tom Ross is the owner and head mechanic on all my builds. No expense was sparred. https://m.facebook.com/pages/Select-Auto-Repair-Owner-Tom-Ross/125371810869278 I only use people I trust. I was the co founder of the what is now the largest dental lab in the world. (Dental Service Group, DSG). Cars are my passion, work allows me to pursue my passion. 2) You noted that you kept all of the original paint, but buffed it up. What condition is the paint (1-10 outside of the dings/scratches)? Answer: The original paint was in solid condition due to the bronco being stored inside a garage in Northern California. There is the normal small scratches that you can hardly see. I chose not to repaint the bronco due to how well it actually looks and shines. I would rate the paint at a 7 out of 10. The originality of the paint gives it character that a modern paint job can not replicate. 3) What rust was discovered in your frame-off and how did you fix it? Do you have pics you can send of the rust discovery/addressing Answer: believe it or not there was hardly any rust on this vehicle at all. It was minor surface rust that was easily properly cleaned and re painted. This was only on the frame. I have more original photos from the day we pulled it out of his garage to show this was one of the cleanest rust free cars I have ever found. 4) Why did you wrap the Line-X below the doors on the exterior over the traditional Ranger Striping that extends to the bottom of the body. This is a typical high rust/wear zone. Answer: As with any original un-restored vehicle, the lower portions get the most scratches. I choose to protect it with the line X, this also covered up any blemishes. I also wanted to bring the design of the custom side steps into account. This design concept brings everything together. 5) Did you add power brakes? Answer: Yes, I added the power brakes. This is a must have in my opinion. 6) Are these the original seats and quarter panels? Answer: Yes all seats and seat frames are original. I had them powder coated and re-upholstered utilizing a new interior kit from Toms Broncos. Since the bronco sat for so many years inside the garage rats choose to live in them. In closing please do not hesitate to call or email me. My travel schedule is hectic but I will make myself available. Also feel free to txt me if you desire. I can respond to txt messages while on conference calls or in meetings. Just private message me and I will respond with my cell number. Thanks in advance, you will not be disappointed in this bronco.
