Vehicle Detail

I am selling a 1988 GSXR750 that I have had for a while but have no time to deal with anymore. The bike needs some carburetor work.I bought this bike from my buddy this last winter, he no longer had time to ride with his wife and kids and it had sat for about a year (ran great when he parked it). When I got it it did not want to start from the gas that had varnished in the carbs so I pulled them apart. If you know about these bike and the Slingshot carbs you know about the tendency of the slide-guides to wear out which in turn takes out the slides, needles and emulsion tubes. The guides are next to impossible to find, but I was able to source all the parts for the carbs including the slides, guides, full rebuild kits, emulsion tubes, Factory Pro Jet Kit etc. I spent nearly $800 on just the carb parts, and I also rebuilt the fuel petcock and replaced the plug wires and fuel lines. The tank is spotless inside.I never got the bike to run right after that. I played around with the jetting and the bike would run well at high idle but not low or vice-versa. I even pulled the head and cylinder at one point to make sure everything was OK in there, and I did find that the head was cracked by the spark plug hole on one cylinder (common failure on these). I got a new (used) head for it and lapped the valves and put in new seals. I pulled the cylinder at that time, and the cylinders look perfect (still show all the cross-hatching) and ring end gaps were all right. The Factory Pro Jet kit comes with 122 and 125 main jets and stock is 112's. I put in some 115's now and it's even worse now, the bike doesn't want to start. I should have known because with 122's it would run well with a towel over the air cleaners (indicating it's lean) but I just wanted to go back towards stock for a baseline. The bike has a very nice paint job on it, it is quality and is a stock paint job. The seats are re-covered as well and the bike just looks beautiful. It has some rash on pegs/silencer but the fairings are good (must have been old damage). There is some rash on the pipe and footpeg, it looks like the bike went down at some point but it was before the paint and fairings were done. Paint has a chip on the tail section and some minor flaws here and there but really is a nice, well done paint job.I'm just done dealing with this bike and I have no desire to work on it or to ride it, I got a jet-ski for the summer and would just love to get this bike out of my garage. I have a clean title in hand and it is non-opped right now. No back-registration is due, I non-opped it before it expired. The tires are like-new as well (front valve stem leaks air when you wiggle it so it will need to be replaced). Odometer shows 23,860 on it (tach and speedo gauge needles are broken off)BIKE IS SOLD AS-IS with no warranty and any guarantees, I have done my very best to describe the bike as best as possible.I live in Tracy CA which is not far from the Bay Area and I am sure there are plenty of vehicle shippers near me that could ship the bike. I would be happy to take the bike down to a shipper to have it shipped, but the BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SHIPPING EXPENSES. Please contact me if you would like any more specific info or any other pictures of the bike and I'd be happy to send them.
