Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1956 FORD F-350 Custom-Cab Truck Original 223 cubic inch 6 Cylinder engine, and the optional 4 Speed Synchro-Silent manual Transmission (on floor). VIN: 4813530TK-25262 This Canadian Barn-Find starts right up and runs well. New: Battery, Fuel Pump, Plug Wires, Distributor cap (Rotor, Points, Condenser), and Coil. Have new spark plugs too, but not yet installed (included). The single down-draft “Holley” carburetor was just rebuilt too. Truck has a clear State of Iowa title. Odometer reads about 91,000 miles. The 1956 F-Series was built with 12V wiring. Would be a great full or partial restoration project, or would even make a neat Rad-rod. Original cab color was a red-orange, but was painted blue and then black at some point. I kind of like the look honestly. I have not gotten to cleaning up inside of cab, fixing brakes/lines yet, nor gas tank (which needs a clean out – engine fed by 1 gallon make-shift under hood fuel supply now). Some glass needs to replaced, seat not original. Previous owner was offered a good amount of money to sell in parts (grill, doors), but resisted - as will I. This truck just needs a little work by person with time, knowledge and place to keep (which is not me as I can’t store at home to work on). The 1956 Ford F-Series trucks have that great sought after look, and are popular with restorers (I see finished ones selling for $50-$100K) with incredible numbers of online parts available. Hood has very nice original emblems (front and 2 sides) as you can see in pics. This truck probably had a stake-bed originally, and would look real cool with a new wood-built one, or a metal flatbed-type one and stakes. Please email any questions, buyer will have to arrange pickup/shipping. $500 deposit via PayPal is required within 48 hours of auction close. Truck is in storage just 10 minutes north of Davenport, IA - right off Interstate 80 (about 2.5 hours straight west of Chicago, IL). THANKS FOR LOOKING! 7/14 Seller is adding additional information:Had some questions about how BIG this truck is compared to lets say a standard 1956 F150 (no idea), yes - it's a F350 but its not a giant in terms of size. Specs: ground to top-of-cab is about 80 inches, back of cab to end-of-frame about 93 inches (for box or bed), and outsides of 2 single driver to passenger rear wheels/tires is only 72 inches across. So really in comparison, this '56 is narrower, shorter and only a little taller than the 2004 F150 I have at home. Lastly, as you see in pics - I fits nicely in a standard 10' x 20' storage unit.
