Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE The owner before me purchased the car at Hot August Nights in 2001. It was very respectfully restored prior to the purchase. Paint is still a 9.5. From 2001-2009 he made some minor upgrades to include installing vintage air, upgrading to a black pony interior and replacing the convertible top…which is powered. During this timeframe, the vehicle was in Oregon. I bought the car in early 2010. At that point, I was living in El Paso, TX. From 2010-2013, I continued to upgrade, replace, or work on the interior, engine, engine bay, exhaust, and exterior badging. I transitioned the interior to a two-tone black and white pony interior with a matching after market console, installed Mustang emblem seatbelts in the backseat for the kids, and picked up Mustang emblem floor mats as well. During the first six months of 2013, I decided to have the engine rebuilt and have the engine bay painted the same color as the car (refer to pictures of engine rebuild, engine bay, and engine balance sheet). The 289 was bored and stroked to a 347 (10:1 ratio), with a Vodoo cam, Edelbrock intake, Summit carb, Champion radiator, Hedman Headers, and Flow Master-like mufflers. Outside of the radiator, the engine looks stock at a casual glance. Despite the work being done two years ago, it was done when the odometer read 9030…only 640 miles ago. During the three-year time frame, I also replaced the rear shocks, front and rear bushings, pneumatic balancer, timing chain, and chain cover. The car sounds great and pulls wonderfully. Is loud on demand but can be driven in a manner to converse with everyone in the car with the top down. In May 2013, I shipped the car to San Antonio, TX, where my in-laws kept it for two years while my family and I were overseas in South Korea. During that time they put four new Hankook tires on it, replaced the flex plate, starter, ignition switch, rear seal, transmission cooler lines, starter, and battery cables. Upon my return to San Antonio two months ago, I had the voltage regulator replaced. I have documentation for all the work done. I have a clear title. The car comes with an extra boot, bra, and car cover. The radio does not work and the rear passenger crank does not always catch the window. And anyone who has owned a classic car knows they require up keep. This vehicle is no exception, and I have done so. My family and I have had some wonderful times in this car. It wasn’t just for me to enjoy. The back seat was big enough to comfortably put the kids in and enter 4th of July parades while they blew bubbles and threw candy to the crowds. It is one of those few vehicles that truly transcend generations. From middle school kids walking home, to baby boomers reminiscing of their or their parent’s car…this car creates an intangible feeling in people that very few do. I want it to go to someone who respects it, will create memories with it, and understand their responsibility to share it with others. Considering what I paid and put into this car, it has a low reserve. Please do not ask me what it is. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally. Buyer is responsible for transporting vehicle. I am not interested in trades. Email me with any questions. Thank you and good luck bidding.
