In 1973 Volkswagen took a huge step forward with the introduction of a new and improved Super Beetle called the 1303. Most of the changes that had taken place on the Beetle were done for function and style, but a new windshield was added for completely different reasons. To comply with proposed U.S. safely regulations regarding the distance between passengers and the front windshield, Volkswagen introduced the new sharply curved front glass to the 1303. This panoramic windshield gave a remarkable 42% increase in visibility and improved the aero dynamics of the car as well. Interior: The interior of the Beetle is clean and simple, not too much and not too little. There is nothing to distract you from the joy of driving this little car. Everything is in immaculate condition throughout. There is a nice flower pattern integrated into the door panels, and the stripe that flows around the exterior of the car moves onto the dashboard as well. The modern cloth seats are comfortable and supportive for those long drives. The brake/gas/clutch pedals, as well as the gear shifter operate smoothly. There is also an aftermarket sound system installed making this car ready to drive comfortably for hours on end. Exterior: The exterior of the Super Beetle has a tasteful 70's feel to it. From the dual bright chrome exhaust to the custom fluorescent blue paint job, to the wooden roof rack up top, this car really stands out in a crowd. There is a large stripe that really compliments the shape of the car and also gives it a more sporty look. Some of the fantastic exterior options include black painted headlight bezels, custom taillights, solid chrome hubcaps, and not to mention that wild blue paint job. This car is sure to turn heads wherever it goes. It is the perfect car to take to the beach or go on a road trip with your friends. Drivetrain: This car is powered by an air-cooled 1600cc dual port motor with dual Webber carbs and a new mechanical fuel pump. The motor was rebuilt less than 5,000 miles ago and has a new coil, and all new wires and plugs. There is a custom chrome shrouding engine dress up kit as well as custom chrome exhaust tips. The clutch is smooth and does not slip and there is no 4th gear pop out. The car runs and drives perfect. The motor starts up the first time every time with no drama, this car can be driven anywhere and needs nothing.
