1963 Chevrolet Impala Convertible I have owned this car since 1989 and drove it during the summers only for 9 years. In 1998 I swaped the original 230 6 cylinder engine for a 327 from a 1969 Chevy. The 327 was installed but the job wasn't completed. It hasn't been driven in about 17 years and will need a complete restoration. Since I've owned the car it has always been stored indoors. The body is rusty and will need work. The car was painted in the 1980's and has some chips and flaking. The front floor pans have been patched and the rear floors are original and fairly solid. The rocker panels are rusty and will need to be replaced. Before I bought the car the outer rocker panels were replaced but not the inner panels. The front fenders look like they have some filler on the bottoms. The right fender has a small dent on the front edge and can be seen in the pictures. The doors look solid with some minor rust and few bubbles in the paint. The lower right side quarter panel was replaced with patch panels and the left side has body filler on it. The frame is solid and looks good. The trunk floor is solid but there are small holes where the trunk floor meets left wheel well and below the left side tail lights. The trunk lid has few dents from people sitting on it and a small rust hole on the underside. The front edge of the hood is rusted through. All of the glass is good but passenger front fell out of the frame and is in the trunk. All of the moldings and trim are there are look good. The convertible top frame is in very good condition. The lift cylinders, hydraulic pump and lines were replaced and work perfectly. The top material will need to be replaced. The car comes with 3 additional original hub caps and 4 SS hub caps, 2 extra headlight bezels and a new molding for the right front fender. The engine is a 327 and it does start with gas poured into the carburetor. The engine was installed but the accelerator linkage wasn’t connected along with the power steering pump. The power steering pump comes with the car. The transmission is a 2 speed powerglide and was completely rebuilt less than a 1000 miles ago. There is no battery, brakes and exhaust. The fuel tank has old gas in it and will need to cleaned and sealed. The fan shroud, original valve covers, new front shock absorbers and throttle linkage come with the car. New rear shocks were installed in 1997. The interior is complete and the carpet was new when I bought the car. The carpet is still in good condition but will need to be cleaned. The glove box door and hinge are included and are in the trunk. The car also comes with the new set of chrome arm rests, extra instrument panel and the original AM radio. It wouldn’t take much to get the car back on the road as is or it could be restored to its original condition. Please contact me if you have any questions or want additional pictures.
