Vehicle Detail
A quick history of the car. It was purchased used by my brother in 1980. He took it home , rebuilt the engine and drove it periodically until 1990. At that time, he had and accident and damaged the front end of the car, as the pictures show, and then he parked the car in a shed until last year when I purchased the car from him. I brought the car home, cleaned it up some, and went to work getting it running again. I pre-oiled the cylinders and oil pump, replaced the battery, alternator and starter and did some minor work on the carb, replaced the old gas and got the car running. The brakes work well and the transmission runs through all the gears just like it should. The cars runs and sounds good but keep in mind it has been sitting since 1990 so may need a little work yet. The car does need a total restoration but is all there. I would suggest that car be hauled to it's new home. This is a rare 1970 GS Stage1 that is equipped with the original, numbers matching engine, a correct rear axle which I believe to be original , and a 4-speed transmission which has been replaced but is a period correct Muncie. The car is brown on brown which is the factory paint and trim code(burnished saddle) but is in need of a complete restoration. This is one of 664 Stage1 cars built in 1970 with a 4-speed. The original build sheet may still be with car somewhere as I don't believe the car has ever been redone in any way. As stated before, the engine is the original engine but the transmission has been replaced when the original one locked up. I believe the rear differential is original as it is a 3:42 posi, but cannot verify as I could not find the 00 markings on the axle tube that would indicate that. Again, this is a rare piece of muscle car history. The Stage1 GS was a rare option and this car is even more rare as it is one of only 664 455 4-speed cars built. The only version of the GS any rarer is the GSX. The car DOES NOT have the correct carb or distributer but everything else, except what was already noted, I believe to be correct. The car does have the usual A-body rust and it is all noted in the pictures, but the frame of the car appears to be solid, so it is a VERY restorable vehicle. The buyer is getting a true piece of automotive and muscle car history and they will have a lot of fun restoring this car. If the description and pictures do not answer ant questions you might have, feel free to contact me through E-Bay and ask away. The car does have a clear Kansas title. The buyer is responsible for shipping cost but I will assist in any way I can. Please call me at 1-620-272-7646 with any questions not addressed here. Happy Bidding!!!!
