Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1985 Mercedes 500 SEC. The car is in wonderful shape, (like stepping back in time) with only 71,930 actual miles. mechanically the car is very sound. It idles and runs as it should and everything works except the thermometer (little led display under the speedo) and possibly the cruise control. Things that have been addressed over the last few years are as follows. the radiator is the newer style with the reinforced water inlets. the front suspension has been gone through and is very tight. the idle control valve and computer have been replaced. the ashtray has been replaced with two 12 volt power ports. most of the vacuum lines, hard and soft, and connectors have been replaced. the car is rust free inside, outside and underneath. The only issues/blemishes I am aware of are as follows. the dash has a cap on it. the front seats have been restitched but the stitching is starting to pull loose on the seat bottoms (the leather is still in good shape though with no cuts). the shifter indicator window is cracked, I think I have another one for it. the headliner is pulling away in the back. there are a couple of door dings on the sides. the door glass has some scratches on them. I tried to take pictures of the blemishes. I bought the car about a year ago and have enjoyed owning it. I buy cars like this as a hobby every now and then to play with. It mostly sits in my garage but I have always made a point to get it out and drive it every month or so if the weather is nice. The only reason I am selling the car is because three of my children are now driving and I need to help finance the family fleet. It would brake my heart to see this car go through the use and abuse of being driven daily by one of my boys as they have no interest in cars outside of basic transportation. They don't see the engineering brilliance expressed as art in motion like I do. Look at my feedback and you will be able to tell that I am a straight shooter. If you come to pick up the car and you do not believe that I have described it accurately I will give you your deposit back, except for what pay-pal takes as their cut. speaking of deposit, a $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auctions end via pay-pal. the remainder will need to be cash. If you are not paying in cash I will not let the car or the title go until my bank tells me your check is safely in my account. I will be happy to work with your shipper but shipping is the buyers responsibility. If you have a poor feedback rating please reach out to me before you bid or I will probably reject your bid. If you are outside the US I will still be happy to sell you the car but my payment terms still apply, the car and title will stay with me until payment has been confirmed secure by my bank. If you need to secure financing before you can pay for the car then please do not bid. If I do not have payment in full within two weeks of the auctions end I will keep your deposit and relist the car unless we have agreed on a different time table up front. Please message with any questions and happy bidding.
