This is 1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible with 74,000 original miles. Last year for the US old-style Beetle model. Originally bought at Volkswagen of Fresno, CA and spent some time in Maryland before returning to Fresno around 8 years ago when it was parked until recently. Thought to have only one previous owner, it is very presentable and clean. It does have some very minor rust issues (detailed in the description) but was undercoated from the factory so it was pretty well protected underneath. It is in overall amazing original condition, with the exception of one repaint in the original color, carburetor instead of fuel injection, Monza exhaust system and an after-market Kenwood AM/FM Cassette stereo. Dash has a small crack over the instrument cluster. Has original sport wheels to include the spare tire/wheel and original owners manual. All gauges work (including the clock!) and lights work and car rides, drives and stops like it should and has plenty of power and does not smoke or make any noises. Spent about $1500 with a local Volkswagen mechanic getting it drivable after sitting for 8 years (receipts included with sale). Fuel system/tank cleaned, new fuel pump, battery, brakes, front brake cylinders, brake lines, master cylinder and oil and fluids serviced/changed. Carburetor probably needs a little fine tuning or timing adjusted as it is running a little rich. Mechanic says the motor is very strong and validated the low miles are likely due to the mechanical condition and overall car. Comes with a clean Maryland title. I have listed most of the defects I can think of in the description area. Overall it is a really clean and cute little car that is an excellent restoration candidate and has little items that can stand to be refreshed/replaced or just enjoy it the way it is. It is really a sharp looking car and is loads of fun to drive with the top down. The convertible top boot and original jack & lug wrench is included as well.
