Vehicle Detail

Even in the fevered days of the muscle car era, it seemed outlandish to some when Dodge and Plymouth added the 440/375 HP Magnum V-8 to its B Body lineup in 1969. Then in 1970 the factory upped the ante with the addition of triple 2 barrel carburetion and a devious factory rating of 390 horsepower. Known as the Six Pack option on Dodge cars, it was offered to plug the gap between the single 4 barrel Magnum and the 426 Hemi, and for street purposes it was just right, especially in Dodge's all new challenger, the last new Mopar to enter Detroits Horsepower sweepstakes. The Challenger R/T Six Pack stole away some of the rival Plymouth Cuda's thunder, and today examples such as this beautifully restored R/T 4 speed convertible have proven to be very attractive to Mopar enthusiasts. Like all Six Packed equipped Challengers, this genuine V-Code convertible was built at the factory with Hemi-rated heavy duty suspension and power disc brakes. The original purchaser also specified the heavy duty A833 4 speed manual trans, which was accompanied by the equally robust Dana 60 rear end, adding power steering and front disc brakes for handling to match its might powertrain. The car's High Impact Plum Crazy paint in contrasted with White Longitudinal R/T stripes, a power-operated White Top and a rare White on Black interior. Fitted with bucket seats, a locking center console with Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, tinted glass, 3 spoke Rim Blow steering wheel, electric clock and solid state sound, this 440 Six Pack also boasts the very rare and desirable Shaker hood. Garage kept and documented with factory broadcast sheet, this is one special car Mopar lovers will not want to miss. Very rare car with the color and the options. Car is all restored original and in perfect condition. On May-23-15 at 12:31:43 PDT, seller added the following information: *Please note the car does NOT have a broadcast sheet, in the works of getting it a new one.
