I bought this cute MG about a year and a half ago to fix up and have as a daily driver but found my dream car(90 saab 900 convert) i did a bunch of body work, passed inspection, but have not drive it much. still starts right up and runs pretty good. below is the ad from the person i bought the car from...all info below is still accurate. This car had been my daily driver since 2002. It has a current Mass safety sticker. Selling because I've upgraded to a newer car. It is fully functional/road worthy. New timing chain in 2007, new emergency brake cable two years ago. Stainless steel exhaust. It has been on the east coast for nearly 10 years. Clutch is good. Shifts smoothly through 4 gears and into reverse. Lights all work. Tires are good. Nice set of alloy rims included! Paint is pealing. Heater works but control console is not in place, see spare one from parts car. Also included - Many, many extra parts. Take as much as you want - see all the pics. Floor boards are intact. There is significant rust at the rocker panels. If the gas tank is filled to the brim you can smell raw gas. I only fill it half way with no problems/odor. There is a tick, tick, tick sound from the engine that has not changed since I bought the car with 68 K miles, it's probably a wrist pin. The previous owner said that noise hadn't changed since he bought the car with 30 K miles. The front bumper needs new mounting studs. The drivers side seat belt take-up spring doesn't work. It has ~110 k miles, no visible smoke in the day light but it does burn some oil. The car has been modified as follows. The OE fuel pump has been replaced with a universal. The OE alternator has been replaced with a new one that fits an 83 Sentra. The OE brake booster/master cylinder has been removed. A new master cylinder for an 01 Escort has been fitted in its place. The brakes work but not as well as OE.. The chassis is straight. There is a crack on the windshield that has consistently passed inspection in MA. The headlight dimmer switch does not "click" as it should, you simply push it forward for brights and pull it back for dims. Buyer is responsible for pick-up/shipping arrangements. where is /as is. . I would trust this little car to go cross country. Please note these cars weren't designed for Inter-state speeds. It can do 65 mph but the engine has to rev, it will do 55 with no problem. If you are planning to drive far I'd advise planning extra time for slower travel. $400 deposit through PayPal with balance in cash at time of pick-up. Buyer will need to take car and as many parts as desired with-in two weeks of purchase. Please don't bid unless you are 100% serious about completing this transaction.
