Vehicle Detail
1969 Chevrolet G20 3/4 ton VanSportvan Custom 108 NO RESERVE AUCTIONBID TO WIN! Wow! Here is a neat old van that runs great too! It can be used 'as is' right now. Drive as you restore it, or simply enjoy the old school vintage 'patina' of this classic vintage chevy van. This really is a sweet old original survivor Vintage Chevy Van. These early Chevy/GMC vans are becoming extremely rare nowadays. You just hardly ever see them anymore, especially window vans in good condition like this one! 1969 Chevy "Sportvan Custom 108". This van had alot of very desireable options from the factory, such as being a 3/4 ton G20 van, with the optional longer 108" wheelbase, heavy duty suspension, bigger brakes & running gear. One wonderful feature of this van is the GM Goodwrench 350 Crate Engine! This van was originally a factory V8, and has highly desirable factory Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission! Since it is a G20 3/4 ton, it also is equipped with a 12 bolt rear end and 3.73 gears. She runs very strong, like a crate motor should! Plenty of power and torque on tap with this Goodwrench 350 cubic inch Chevy V8. You put your foot down and hear the 4 barrels of this 350 roar while this truck gets busy gettin' rubber! This van is quite fast and is really a blast to drive. Its a very powerful truck, but also can be efficient while cruising thanks to the small economical primary bores of the rebuilt GM quadrajet carburetor. The 350 crate engine has all the power you need to haul a van load of camping gear, tools, drywall, paint, friends and family, really whatever you can imagine... or even put a trailer hitch on it. Being a 3/4 ton with all the heavy duty suspension, rear axle, running gear and big brakes options, this van would be an ideal rig to use for towing trailers! The body has normal wear for age, but it well preserved for the most part. Paint is well worn, its had at least one re-paint and the body does have a couple scars here and there, sustained from over its years of loyal service. Overall, this van is in pretty good shape. Its in good 'driver' condition -- not perfect, but it might just be "perfect" for you! You could easily restore this van as you drive it, or simply use it "as is" for work or play, or both! Great van for camping trips, work, road trip adventures or just cruising around. The two-tone green paint is still holding up and definitely has that classic old school look that is so popular these days on older vehicles. It still looks great especially with the original steel rims and classic chevy factory hubcaps. The tires are starting to show some weather cracking, but still have good tread and all hold air, no leaks or flats.Brand new professionally rebuilt quadrajet carburetor.Upgraded GM HEI (High Energy Ignition) electronic distributor with high performance plug wires.Dual exhaust with performance mufflers, and it sounds awesome at idle and going down the road too! This van is an original Northwest vehicle, and she's a survivor, but it does have a few issues that I will discuss. All glass in in good condition with no cracks, however one of the pop-out frames on the driver's side is in poor condition, and driver's door window has a tendency to slip out of its track when you roll it up & down, probably needs new window channel weatherstripping and window "fuzzies" to fix the issue. The body does have some rust in the front floorboard, and also a minor spot very low on the rocker behind the side cargo doors. Both these spots are actually very common and typical for the '64-70 chevy/GMC vans. This van's issues are quite minor and all can be easily repaired. Please see the photos for detail of both these areas. The roof is in very good shape, straight with no dents, and no vents or sunroofs cut into it! The body itself is quite straight overall also, but does have a couple minor areas that could use the attention of a bodyman prior to re-painting. The aft rocker (low on the body, and aft of the gas filler cap) on the driver's side is pushed in a bit. Very low in the driver's rocker on the same side it has a crease in it. It is not bad and hardly shows up in the photo, but it is there so I feel obligated to disclose it. The left rear door has a dent about the size of a silver dollar near the hinge. The nose also has a small dent to the side of the chevy 'bowtie' emblem. Again, please scroll down to view detailed photos that will show all the areas I am talking about. Interior: Front seats do need re-covering. Passenger seat folds forward, which is handy when hauling longer cargo like lengths of plumbing pipe or lumber. Dash pad suffers from some cracks. It is foam with vinyl so it could be recovered to match the seats. Defrost vents also have cracks. Steering wheel is original and yes, it has some cracks too, but on the plus side it does have a new turn signal switch installed in it, so all the turn signals and even the horn works too. No radio. Again, please see pictures for all the cosmetic details. Includes original pull-out Sportvan passenger courtesy step on side doors, which is a really neat option that only came on the Chevy Sportvan and GMC Handibus. This is a used vintage vehicle. It runs & drives well, brakes are good. Lights work, etc. I've done my best effort to describe all the flaws, but as with any older collector vehicle, please understand there may be other minor flaws present. The best thing for you to do is take the time to check out all the pictures, and if you have any further questions, please ask me! Buyer pays all shipping costs from Tacoma, WA 98444.
