Vehicle Detail
Relisted due to non-paying bidder. Please do not bid unless you can complete the purchase. Barn ( carport ) find. Parked for many years in a carport. Mileage shows as 24614 but unknown if this is the true mileage. Originally an "A" code 225 HP 289 4 speed manual transmission car. An older restoration, the car was disassembled some time in the past , the cowl vents were repaired, new front and rear valances, new front bumper, all the floor pans were repaired , rear quarters and front fenders were replaced along with trunk floor repairs , rear and front frame repairs and reinforcements. The car was re-painted Burgundy , (the original color was Candy Red). When I purchased the car the original A code 289 and 4 speed had already been removed. I installed a new underhood wiring harness, electric fuel pump, a freshened 1992 5.0 with OEM 4 barrel manifold, Edelbrock 1406 carb, HEI distributor, 85 amp alternator, new mini starter, water pump and serpentine drive mated to a 5 speed T5 manual transmission with "classic look" shifter. along with new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, new Z bar assembly and clutch fork, finned aluminum valve covers, finned aluminum oil pan. 5 new 195 R 70 14" white wall tires. The doors open and close fine with no sagging or drooping. The cars runs and drives great. Due to the car having been parked for many years on dirt I had the torque boxes and under seat reinforcement pans replaced with new Dynacorn parts. New fuel tank, sending unit, fuel lines and brake lines along with a new dual exhaust system with turbo mufflers. The entire car was then undercoated with heavy duty truck bed spray. I replaced the heater box with a brand new complete assembly and it works great, the original interior is in very good condition, the floor console is not cracked, all the windows go up and down OK and are not cracked or broken, the wipers, heater motor, turn signals and emergency flasher all work. Everything works except the radio. The Bad: The top is serviceable and will need to be replaced sometime in the future, the paint is a "10 footer" and has minor chips and wear but no dents, the windshield has a vertical crack but it is not in the drivers way. The rear bumper shows some rust. Warranty (Data) Tag reads:76A T 26 09 M 53 1 5 This is not a show car but it is a solid survivor that you can drive "as-is" or finish the car off with a new paint job and top . Im always looking for new projects so a possible partial trade is possible. I can store the car until you arrange for shipping. Questions? call or text dean 505-414-0617 On May-06-15 at 10:26:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to include these in the listing. The radiator is a new heavy duty aluminum with shrouded electric fan, adjustable controller and polished aluminum overflow tank and the engine runs very cool with no hint of overheating. All the engine and heater hoses are brand new.The steering wheel is the Deluxe "Pony" wheel, the floor console has all new wiring harnesses and a new rear light assembly. the mechanical fuel pump in the engine picture is a "dummy" the electric fuel pump feeds to it. I installed a heavy duty export brace and had the shop install frame stiffeners at the same time they replaced the torque boxes. the top is manual, the rear plastic window is OK, but I left it down to ease putting the top up or down. All the instruments work, the heater motor, turn signals and wiper motor all work as they should. I installed a new dual voice cone stereo in-dash speaker in anticipation of installing a new radio. there are rear seat belts, the fronts are missing but the mounts are in the floor pans. the e-brake works fine. the car comes with a shoe box full of all the receipts for all the parts and work. The car is completely drive able and extremely reliable "as-is" The only thing I would do is upgrade the front brakes to a disc system with a dual bowl master cylinder and drive it.
