2005 Subaru Forester XT GOOD- ~128k miles- automatic transmission- Lots of recent maintenance work (have receipts for everything), including: timing belt, water pump and all bearings, new belts, new brake pads and rotors, power steering pump, fuel pump, filter and more. -Gets 23 mpg combined- Car is dirty (has been sitting unused for a few months) and there are some bumps and bruises but nothing too abnormal for a 10 year old car. - Engine is strong. Strong compression and zero leak down (have test results)- The 2005 Forester XT has a 2.5 liter turbo engine which is very similar to the engine in the WRX STI. This car is very quick, and AWD, with room for passengers and cargo as well.- 2.5 LITER TURBO, ITS PRETTY FAST FOR AN SUV! Lots of fun to drive, especially with the WRX suspension on it. You won't find anything as fast, fun, practical and economical as this for the price! NOT SO GOOD- The car has a salvage title. It was involved in an accident early in its life, but everything was repaired and it has been driven over 100k miles with no issues since the accident. As far as I can tell, the car is straight and there are no ill effects. I had the car checked out by a shop and a professional body repairman before I purchased it and both said the repair work was done well and that there were no ill effects. I have the title in hand in my name.- the recently replaced power steering pump needs to be replaced again as the rebuild unit that was installed makes noise. The unit has a lifetime warranty so its just labor that is needed basically.- the car needs a new brake master cylinder and booster. The master cylinder went bad from sitting. The brakes sort of work, but not as well as they did before I parked the car a few months ago. Currently brake fluid is being sucked into the vacuum system of the engine and is burning off because of the heat creating some smoke after a long drive. The engine itself burns no oil and the smoke does not have an oil smell. Replace the master cylinder and the booster and you should be good to go.- There is some clear coat peel on the front fenders, hood scoop and roof rack. There is a dent on the rear bumper, drivers side. There are also small door dings on the doors. Upgrades:- Factory Sti intercooler with Samco intercooler y-pipe- Cobb replica catback exhaust- WRX shocks and springs (~40k on them)- Deatschwerks DW200 fuel pump The car has been sitting for a bit and is dirty. Last 10 pictures are how it looks now. The first 2 pictures were taken a few months ago when the car was clean. The last 10 pictures were taken last week. Need to sell this to buy a truck.
