1982 VOLKSWAGEN CADDY / RABBIT TRUCK PICKUP This is a California car, so the body is not rusted asthey can be in many places around the country. This vehicle was built to keep as a weekend utility vehicle,but plans and things have changed your gain my loss! The original severely underpowered 1.6D engine has been replaced with a FULLY REBUILT 1.9TD AAZ ENGINE. The 1.9TD engine has been rebuilt with the following things done: Block hot tanked and bored to +0.50mm and honed with oversize pistonsCylinder head rebuilt with NEW cam and NEW lifters and ported.The AAZ crank was replaced with a TDI (AHU) crankshaftto eliminate the notorious issue with the crank gear.Turbo was rebuilt.New crank bearings.New rod bearings.New INTERMEDIATE SHAFT BEARINGS also!New head gasketNew valve cover gasket.New rear and front main seals.New oil pan baffle/seal.New oil pump.New water pump.New thermostat.New alternator.New timing belt with tensioner.New flywheel and clutch with a 16V clutch to handle the AAZ torque.New clutch release bearing.New clutch rod.Air & Oil filters are of course also new. Original 5 Speed diesel transmission with the code FN, thishas the best 5th gear ratio for the best MPGs. The transmission has fresh new Redline all synthetic MTL fluid in it. Might have overlooked something, if so will add it. All parts used are OEM brand products. Added extras: Factory OEM bed rails. Air filter box and intake from Mk1 Jetta chassis Upgraded to ABF serpentine belt & alternator setup New BILSTEIN HDs in the front along with new strut mounts.(included are brand new stock shocks for the rear)Neuspeed sport springs. All ball joints and tie rod ends were recently replaced.Steering rack boots were recently replaced.The shifter bushings were all replaced. Brakes and pads were recently replaced. Passenger side engine mount is a two piece design one thereby replaceable without removing the mount from the car. All four tires have very decent thread and the tires are MADE IN USA. It has BMW OEM light weight aluminum wheels on it currently. The body is not beautiful but it is for the most part a fairly straight body,that with a paint job would become a really nice looking truck. If you are seriously interested I can arrange for a paint job for it too for a competitive price.I decided not to do the paint job before selling it thereby leaving the option to the new owner to decide what and how to do that if at all. While there is surface rust as can be seen in the pictures the body is not rusty as such.The engine is very strong and has less than 1000 miles on it after it was rebuilt, enoughto verify everything works as it should and that it runs fine.
