Vehicle Detail
I bought this car to do autocross racing 5 years ago. The engine was not running and the car needed paint when I bought it. The engine has been rebuilt. Mild street port with larger 1300cc fuel injectors. Apex Power FC computer. Stock twin turbos are still sequential with simplified vacuum hose upgrade. New aluminum radiator and larger intercooler. Dynoed at 359 HP and 309 torque at rear wheels running on 93 octane pump gas. Megan adjustable coilover shocks. Upgraded Racing Beat sway bars. Hawk brake pads. Battery relocated to trunk. RS Racing fuel anti surge kit. I seldom drove this car on the street but it drives just fine. The instrument cluster failed and the speedo shop could not repair. I replaced the instrument cluster with a import replacement that reads in kilometers. The car started life as a Touring model (Auto trans and sunroof). The car has been converted to a 5 speed manual trans. Has Prolite aluminum flywheel and race clutch, all working OK. Rear diff is currently 4.77 ratio. Car comes with additional 3.90, 4.10 and 4.44 rear gears. Car comes with 3 sets of wheels, stock 16x8 wheels with like new street tires, OZ 17x8.5 front and 17x9.5 rear and a set of 18x10 with Hoosier race tires. I repainted the car shortly after I bought it. The color is Chrysler Montego Blue, a color I much preferred to the original blue. I have autocrossed this car on and off for the last 5 years. I have six race cars so I don't race this car all the time. It is fairly competitive. I have won two local season championships in the SCCA solo SSM class. The car has had many FTD's with my son driving. I am 67 years old and not as sharp as I used to be. It's time for me to slow down and get rid of my faster cars. I have left out a lot of fine details but you get the idea, It looks pretty good but not perfect inside or out. Its a race car not a show car. If you are a good driver, you can get in this car and be competitive. It is in race condition ready to go. If you want to drive it on the street, be advised the heater, AC and windshield washers do not work. Everything else works OK.
