Vehicle Detail
Celebrating its 50th Birthday ;-) ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ANYWHERE PAN ;-) Dry California car its entire life ;-) Check out all the pics, I give details on many Winning bidder will get the extra parts I mention (cosmetic trim) Service records and original books, Herbie 4-pack DVD collection, and original 1965 VW advertisement. Up for auction is my incredible (older resto~ yet unmolested and original) 1965 VW original car in really unbelievable condition. I recently put in new carpet, and the deep red tweed interior is in great condition (Even the headliner is in this beautiful solid sound dampening tweed). This truly is a daily driver. You could fly into Las Vegas, and drive this baby home anywhere there are roads! The pan is completely rust free as are every other area that vintage beetles seem to gather rust. I have taken a lot of photos so check for yourself. I also added new running boards, and H4 crystal headlamps with the blue running lights feature (really grabs attention). I cannot go anywhere here in Vegas and I am not asked about the bug. I recently drove it to Los Angeles and back issue free. It does have 23k on rebuild, has excellent power, shifts great, brakes have been redone… It starts right up without issue or smoke (it probably would pass smog but it’s a 1965 so you can forget about that ;-) Just turned 50 years old and you would never know it! ***Shocks are excellent and responsive (no floating feel over bumps or bottoming out, just excellent even at high speeds.) ***Shifts great ***New Tires~ spare needs a new valve ***New Headlamps ***Brakes redone ***New carpet ***New running boards ***Nice Mp3/SD/Iphone receiver and 400W speakers system *interior lighting, emergency brake, seat belts, wiper nozel sprayer, interior dome light, dimmer switch, cigarette lighter, everything working! ***New trunk Mat (not seen in pics) ***Overall driving~ Car starts immediately, goes over bumps effortlessly with no noises, totally solid feel, brakes are responsive with no pull, or pulse, clutch works excellent, steering is solid, doesn’t pull one way or another, goes down road with no vibration whatsoever. Just an excellent driving old VW~ You will be amazed. ***23K rebuild (has typical drip *You will want to install a new oil-cooler seal (a $4 part, 2 hours labor), as I mention you could fly in to Vegas and drive this Herbie home anywhere, I just want to mention the oil-cooler seal as something you will want to take care of~its running and driving great currently... I have owned many older dubs and have a garage mat ;-) this engine starts right off, no smoke ever, and on the highway is smooth and responsive~ really fantastic driver! ***Seats: Nice condition for older resto, High-end custom tweed looks great, minor tear in passenger seat fixed (mostly its under where the seatback fits next to bottom of seat so you don’t see it in the seats normal position.) Check out the pics, normal wear like where the window cranks turn, but overall just fantastic! Driver seatback could use a bit more padding. ***Older paint is still good, so you can leave it as is, or for a few bucks give it a showroom paint job, I decided to leave the paint alone as it truly looks like the Herbie bug from the movies. When I drive the car, I get 2-3 people ask if they can take pics of the car, this has become a normal part of owning the car, honks while going down the road and thumbs up are a daily occurrence…this car brings smiles to everyone’s faces. ***Unmolested not full of bondo and completely rust free VW! Front right fender had some paintwork done but it looks good. The paint isn’t perfect, touch ups etc. but it still looks great and I love driving it ! Has a nice Patina. Passenger lock is acting up (sometimes doesn’t allow me to lock from the outside, so I am thinking to get two new matching door handles with keys and I will keep you posted through the auction if I do. If you wanted an excellent daily driver that with little effort could turn into a show car, this is definitely the one. But as is, it is beautiful ;-) ***I have plenty more pics. I took pix under battery tray area, when I replaced carpets so you can see how excellent the floors are, excellent underpan pix, and more.***Feel free to ask questions and I will respond as quickly as I can.***The original VW service books is rare to have and just really cool to see the original service stamps and sheets ;-) On Mar-12-15 at 10:56:52 PDT, seller added the following information: ***As many have asked "is your reserve less than $10k?" the answer is YES.***Also, I do have the spare tire which fits in the front trunk area. The original was flat, so I will put on a new tire for the winning bidder.
