ORIGINAL OWNER Hi, I am the original owner of this 2002 Toyota Highlander. I purchased this car new in 2002 and it has been very reliable. I've driven it to work every day, plus several trips to Florida from PA. It's also been on many trips to the Jersey shore. The Toyota runs well and with newer all-season tires and AWD it performs great in the snow. The reason that I am selling the car is that recently my situation has changed in that my household now has more cars than licensed drivers so it is time to let the Toyota go. Over the years this car has been very reliable and repair bills have been very low and infrequent. Mechanically the car performs well and from the outside looks decent. On the inside the rear cargo area and the rear seats are in ok condition. The drivers seat and carpeting are worn and there are a few other imperfections so I would rate the interior to be in fair+ condition. Below is a summary of a few repairs that were done recently. Most significantly, the transmission which was fully rebuilt by a local/professional transmission repair shop at a cost of nearly $4,000. The rebuilt trans has gotten the Toyota running strong once again. In addition, approximately 1 year ago a complete set of new tires were installed as well. The car just completed the PA State Inspection last week so the inspection is good through 02/16. During the inspection, rear break pads and calipers were installed at a cost of $800. I had this work completed now so that the buyer would have confidence that the car is sound. This car is available for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.
