Vehicle Detail
Very rare only two V12 commercial chassis built with this wheelbase in 1935 (per the Cadillac club archives). 1935 Cadillac “Carved” hearse originally from California. The chassis has a 153.5” wheelbase and it has a Fleetwood body with v12 motor. Don’t know which coach builder made this hearse. Front seat is basically gone and this is normally where the builders tag would be placed. The only tag I have is the Cadillac Motor Car product license firewall tag. Hearse comes with a California Title. This hearse sat in a walnut grove in Northern California for several years until it was saved. The body is somewhat straight missing most of the wood (eaten or rotted out). The rear section metal was cut-off due to no wood support and comes with the hearse, NO CARVED PANELS, BACK DOOR, OR SUPPORTING WOOD comes with the hearse. Basically, the front metal body, door shells and side/back metal body comes with the hearse (see pics). The V12 motor and drivetrain is pretty much intact from what I can tell (see pics). Motor was stuck and has been soaking in Marvel oil/diesel for several years. This car is missing: All of the interior upholstery and wood/supports, front seat, front door guts, rear door, carved panels, wood floor, dash ash tray, bumper mounting pieces, generator air cooling vent, voltage regulator cover and headlight guts. All the glass will have to be replaced due to age and condition. I am not sure if the suicide doors had any side glass. All electrical wiring is mostly gone and a new harness needs to be furnished/installed buy the new owner. Items that come with car (see pics): Carbs/air cleaners (one carb has a old weld repair on the body) Two wire wheels for side mounts (one is nice the other has some digs in rim) Front & rear bumpers with mounts in great condition. Four hub caps (ok condition). Tail light lenses (plastic repros) Headlight & taillight assemblies (missing some guts) Miscellaneous dash gauges Goddess hood ornament. VIN=4100626Mileage=31?37 (some of the numbers are difficult or not visable) The reserve is basically what I have into the hearse at this time. I originally purchased this to make a Speedster or roadster, but need the space in my barn and don’t really want to work on anymore wood Bodied cars. This car is being sold “as-is” condition and requires a $200 Paypal non-refundable down payment within 48 hours of close of auction. Remaining balance paid in cash upon pick-up of vehicle near Show Low, AZ. Vehicle must be picked-up within two weeks at close of auction or can negotiate a few more weeks if needed. Please contact me with any questions at (951)847-0576 or through ebay. Additional Info: You can google carved panel hearses to get an idea what it might have looked like. In the "Carved Panel" book it states that some renderings were made of a V12 & V16 hearse, but the author states that he not sure if they were ever produced. What you see in the auction is the rare V12 hearse that was produced! I was contacted by one Ebayer that says he has some fiberglass moulds of the carved panels. I can forward the contact info to the winning bidder if they are interested.
