Vehicle Detail

Hello, I purchased this as a project (I have another FJ62), and then we decided to move to Puerto Rico. Life sure is funny sometimes. I have spent hardly any time on this car since I had it shipped from California to Michigan last month. Therefore, I'm posting the previous sellers comments below. I did look the vehicle over and have the following comments (things I wasn't told). The interior is dirty; the people that owned it were slobs. However, it's very much intact and shows wear mainly on the drivers seat. The body and frame are SOLID. I mean really awesome. The only part that is in need of attention is the roof which was repaired by a monkey before it was painted from red to blue. That said, based on my inspection, I believe the body to be free of the monkey work the roof was subjected to. I'll post pictures that I took yesterday. The paintwork is acceptable, with the exception that they did not paint the engine compartment. It runs and drives well. I filled up the radiator, which has a very slow leak, and drove it all over town, over 100 miles without issue. That said, there are a lot of miles on the engine, so don't expect it to have the pep of a new one. Other than that, it's an awesome FJ. It rides nice and smooth and I'm sad to see it go. On the other hand, this weather sucks and I'm ready to move!!! Can be shipped, or you can pick it up. I'll accept payment of cash, bank check or Paypal. Previous sellers comments: Hi there- The Cruiser was my every day vehicle until Halloween when it overheated, stalled, and would not start again until it cooled down hours later. I have only driven it short distances (<4 miles at a time) since then. I heard that if these kind of cars overheat to that point the engine head gaskets or something like that can crack, but I am not certain that this has occurred. Given the age of the car and mileage the engine could be ready for an overhaul anyway. This is why I suggest that someone who has the time, mechanical skills, or money and/or patience -- but most importantly love for the TLC FJ62 -- enjoy this as a project car. The speedometer and odometer stopped working this summer, the power door locks don't work, the right passenger window is stuck up, there are holes in the washer fluid reservoir, and there are some minor wear and tear on the interior (though only the passenger seat has the original fabric exposed -- driver seat and back seat has Bulldog seat covers protecting the upholstery), there are four shoulder belts and one lap seat belt...some limited rust along the rain gutters...the antenna is just a stub... Tires are practically new, the frame is strong and in good shape, there was no problem driving all over ranches and dirt roads all over southern California, long distances and short, up until Halloween. I will be sad to see this car go, but happy to know someone will get a good deal on this classic and give it the attention it deserves.
