Vehicle Detail

1981 Ford Mustang Ghia Hatchback w/T-tops This 1981 Ford Mustang Ghia was ordered on March 12th, 1981 by Vista Ford in Woodland Hills, California. It was used as a dealer demo until it was sold on May 24th, 1982. It was put away in 1996 and brought out of storage in 2010 by the original owner’s son. He put over $1000 into it to freshen it up and parked it again. I bought it on January 15th, 2014 and brought it to Michigan. It has never seen a Michigan winter and is a rust-free, California car. It currently has 102,623 miles. It came from the factory with every option available including leather seats (except for delayed wipers). 1981 is the first year for power windows and T-tops on the Fox Body platform. It is also the last year for the Ghia model. 1981 is also the only year that there was a Ghia with T-tops. Though in 1977 and 1978 there were Mustang Ghia's, Ford did not offer T-Tops on them. I've put a lot of new parts on this car. Any original parts I've taken off I still have except for the front struts. It is still an incredibly original car. It was also featured at the Mustang 50th Anniversary celebration at Ford World Headquarters on April 17, 2014. It is a nice driver, but not perfect. It has some drips from the trans on the ground and needs a front-end alignment. The paint has some scratches. Also, some panels have been repainted, but not the entire car. The clock in the console does not work. The cruise buttons broke off, but I have them. I tested the cruise with another wheel and it works. The cassette tape player does not work, but the radio does, though it’s not great sound quality. The dash has some cracks, vinyl tear on the driver’s door panel, and a bleach spot on the rear carpeting. The original owner was a horse-lover thus the custom horse floor mats that I am leaving with the car. It also comes with a car cover from the original owner. This is a fun, inexpensive, 32-year-old collectible Mustang that unfortunately, I must sell to the next caretaker. Please, serious buyers only, no low-ballers. If you are serious, please call and I can provide you with more details and pictures, 248-417-8041. I've been able to break down the numbers and out of the 1 of 23 White/Caramel paint/trim combo, 13 of those came with T-tops. Car must be paid in full before it leaves the premises. A $250 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of auction end. The buyer is responsible for the cost and arrangements for shipping. I cannot store the car long-term and it must be picked up within 7-10 days. Car is sold as-is, no warranty expressed or implied. Please see pictures and Marti Report for condition and more information. Thanks for looking!
