Vehicle Detail

Hello, up for sale is a freshly restored military M1009 Blazer done at Southern CUCV Restoration. They specialize in ONLY CUCV’s. They search, find, restore and ship them all over the country. Located in the metro Washington, DC and Baltimore area in Annapolis MD. If you have been looking for a truck like this then don’t miss this opportunity as these trucks are getting really hard to find. You will pay $5000.00 for a good running and driving base truck BEFORE the complete restoration if you can even find one! If you have been looking and waiting for a nice turnkey M1009 Military Blazer then this is your chance to own one that’s DONE. This particular truck is a fine outstanding original southern truck that has NEVER had ANY rust, surface or otherwise. This is one of the best running trucks I've ever had! Starts with a wave of your hand over the key!! Here is what they did during restoration To begin the restoration we stripped everything down and off the truck so we could completely restored the interior, with new heat shielding and a brand new original style rubber floor mat on the floor, also installed is a brand new GM restoration vinyl over foam correct dash pad. We added all new weather-stripping on the door surround, new window sweepers, and new glass and tailgate felts. Furthermore we also took out all the glass and replaced it with near perfect takeout’s from another truck. It now features a brand new tinted and shaded windshield. Also installed are new correct GM turn signal leaver and new pedal pads and new windshield wipers and new rear view mirror. The interior seats are brand new custom made covers front and back. The new paint inside and out is correct 383 NATO green color and looks fantastic. This truck needed hardly any bodywork it nice and straight and did I mention…NO RUST! The trucks brakes have been serviced front and rear, new oil and filter, all fluids checked, transmission, transfer case, and rear differential. Alternators charge correctly and both Gen lights work and 4 wheel drive works great. Heater does not leak and works great. The cargo area was painted with new bed liner, and also a brand new tailgate window regulator. All new Gates belts for both Alts and the power steering pump and 2 new heater hoses. The wheels and tires are take off's from a donor truck and are in good shape with little wear on the tires. They are BFG 33/12.50/15 Mud Terrain's. And the wheels are Chevy truck rally wheels with caps. I think they look awesome. Additionally installed are two new batteries and new battery cables and terminals. We installed a new glow plug card and 8 AC Delco glow plugs and two new under dash resistors one for the volt meter and the other for the passenger side Gen #2. A new NAPA air filter is also installed. We also added new PulseTech military 24volt solar powered Solargizer, which will help keep your new batteries fresh. Two new A/C Delco door locks have been installed with keys. All the lights have been checked and serviced and work great, with new front marker lenses, taillight lenses with new housing and new light bulbs. We also installed two Halogen headlights that are nice bright and clear. I bought this truck a short time ago but have to sell it for financial reasons. I LOVE this vehicle and hate to get rid of it. Never had any problems with it. Starts every time. Turns heads everywhere. I have never seen another one in as good of shape as this one is! If you're nervous about buying this on ebay - don't be. My job and career depend on my integrity and I'm not about to ruin my life just to sell a truck! Call me if you have any questions. I'm happy to tell you anything I know about it. The truck is garaged in Waco Texas where I live. I will accept a bank check once the auction is finished. once I receive your check and it clears, I will send you the title and registration which are current in Texas. I reserve the right to end the auction early and sell it locally. Thanks, Nate. (254) 498-6894 **These are great trucks to own and have on standby in case of emergency or any event that might occur and are not susceptible to EMP blast or computer break downs; they get good mph on diesel fuel, easy to work on 4x4 that’s as tough as nails. ** Info on the GM CUCV’s below……….. The GM CUCVs were produced in the 1983-86 time period (model years were 1984-87 and mostly 1984) and were powered by 6.2L Detroit Diesel V8 engine. The GM CUCVs were assembled mostly from the heaviest duty bits and pieces from the light commercial truck lines. The CUCVs came in four basic body styles: pickup, utility, ambulance body and chassis cab. The M1008 was the basic cargo truck, the M1010 was the ambulance and the M1009 ¾-ton utility rig, which was a stripped Blazer uprated to 3/4-ton capacity. With the exception of the M1009, the trucks were all rated as 1¼ ton (commonly called a “five-quarter”), even though some of them had payloads in excess of that. In the truck lines there were some heavy duty variants, to include the M1028, M1028A1, M1028A2 and M1028A3 shelter carriers, the shelter being a mobile command, communications or intelligence operations enclosure. The M1031 was the chassis cab which was most commonly found in the two door version. These latter trucks were all rated for heavier 3,600 or 3,900 pound loads, vs. the M1008s 2,900 pound load capacity. The M1028A2 and A3 models had dual rear wheels. Many M1028s were upgraded at the company level to M1028A2 and A3 specs. The Dual wheel rear end was a result of incidents where the M10128 flipped on its side because of the high center of gravity when carrying the equipment shelters.-- Powertrain All the CUCVs were powered by GM’s 6.2L J-series Detroit Diesel V8 engine non-emissions diesel. These were rated at 155 hp (116 kW) and 240 lb·ft (325 N·m), which was 5 hp (3.7 kW) more than the emissions diesel engine of the time. They were all equipped with the TH-400 automatic. All but the M1028A1 and M1031 used the NP-208 chain drive transfer case. The M1028A1 and M1031 units had a slip-yoke rear output version of the NP-205, which was specified mainly for its PTO capacity. Axles The M1009 Blazer used 10-bolt axles (front and rear) featuring 3.08:1 gears. The rear axle was equipped with an Eaton Automatic Differential Lock (ADL) with the front being a standard open differential. The M1008 trucks used open Dana 60 front axles, with the M1028 and M1031 variations often having a Trac-Lok limited slip. In the rear, the M1008s used the GM 10.5-inch (270 mm) 10.5" Corporate 14 Bolt Differential with No-Spin lockers (the commercial trade name for the Detroit Locker). Though the M1028A2 and A3 duallies have Dana 70 HD axles. Axle gear ratios were 4.56:1. Electrical As with other military vehicles, the CUCVs used a 24-volt electrical system. It was actually a hybrid 12/24-volt system that used 24-volts under the hood, complete with dual 100 amp alternators, the mandatory NATO slave receptacle for jump starting any NATO vehicle, and hookups for military radios. The rest of the truck was 12-volt.
