- Excellent restoration candidate with minimal rust - A genuine 442 – not a clone or tribute car - 1,304 genuine 442 Convertibles were produced in the 1971 model year - From the body tag: ST 71 34467LAH208849 (“44” indicates a genuine 442) - Automatic transmission - The original 455 engine was replaced with a 350 (casting 395558 A) - 4-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor - Dual exhaust - Original 442 wheels with good tires - Original color was “Bittersweet” orange and was changed to gold - The odometer works and shows 28,500 – not sure of the exact mileage though - Fuel gauge, clock, radio (aftermarket), heater blower, turn signals, and power top do not operate – we have not tried to diagnose any of these. - The original owner lived in Boston and owned an auto repair shop – he sold the car to a neighbor in the late 1970s and that family owned the car until 2013 when I purchased it. - The car has been in California since 1993 - The car starts, runs and operates fine and has recently been driven daily to and from work - I have too many cars and projects so this rare car must go to the next owner! - Please see pictures in the auction – more will be provided upon requestYouTube video available - search: "Ed's 442 convertible Hemet California" - Collectorcarpricetracker dot com is a good resource for classic car values based on actual sales - Please e-mail seller with any questionsOn Nov-30-14 at 19:19:54 PST, seller added the following information: Driver's side 1/4 window glass is missing
