Vehicle Detail
Extremely clean & original 1985 Porsche 930 with ~ 35,4XX miles. I'm not some dealer who is trying to flip a car that he doesn't really know for a quick buck, but a private collector who has owned & restored race & collector cars for decades. I've owned this car since 2006, and even though I driven it less than 1k miles a year since I've owned it, I've spent quite a lot of time with it and am very familiar with this car. The originality and condition were what initially attracted me to this 930. I have had no mechanical issues with it other than replacing a warm-up regulator after I brought it home. Also, the car had a bad 3rd gear synchronizer, so I had the transmission completely rebuilt (I have receipts for all the work). The car now runs flawlessly, and since I've driven it on several trips. The higher-horsepower Euro engine runs like a champ & is very strong! Unlike many 930s that you'll find, this car has never been track-driven or raced, cut on, converted to a drop-top or slantnose, or otherwise abused. The engine bay is very clean and you can tell it's original. It would score extremely well in any PPI, and I'd not hesitate to drive it anywhere (weather permitting). It has lived in my climate-controlled garage since I've had it. I regularly start it and keep it in excellent running condition. It still has the original Fuch rims with the factory locks. The car is about 90% original paint, Prussian blue Metallic, (only the front bumper was resprayed due to some rock chips) and has never had any accidents, rust or damage. This is as solid a body as you'll find. It's not all scratched up and shines deeply in a wonderful metallic blue. All the original VIN & paint stickers are still where they are supposed to be. It's not a concours show car, but rather a VERY nice clean survivor that's extremely presentable. You'd be proud to participate in any PCA driving or show event with this one! (I know that I have) Original blue FULL leather (including stitched leather dash, which most 930s won't have) interior with no rips, tears, stains, etc.. I've replaced a few small items (cracked speaker grill, seatback lever, etc.) over the years, but it really doesn't need anything and looks very nice as-is. The A/C could use a recharge. It was working last summer and blows cold, but I think it could be better. The car's a European market car that was in the southern U.S. (hence the window tint) since 1986. It was imported by an British gentleman who worked at the U.K consulate office in Texas. He traded it in at a Porsche dealer soon before I got it for a new turbo, and I talked to him after buying this (he has really regretted selling it). I have all the import paperwork and release letter from the U.S. NHTSA, dated 5/13/1986. This is a ROW (Euro) car with the rear fog light (working), side marker lights, and smaller bumpers. The European cars have a much cleaner look and a higher HP rating than U.S. cars. Basically stock, but the following items come with the car: - Garrett K27 turbocharger - Garretson intercooler (I took this off and put the stock intercooler back on, but this one goes with the car) - B&B Stainless exhaust system - aftermarket radio with a lifetime XM/Sirius radio subscription I'm very familiar with the difficulties and apprehension of purchasing a car online, and have seen a few that were misrepresented by unscrupulous sellers. That's not me. If you're the winning bidder and are not happy with this car when you come to pick it up, I'll refund your deposit, minus the listing fees. The car won't leave until funds clear. I also cannot store this all winter for you, because (as you can see) my garage is full and I need the space. (Note on photos: Several show the rear wiper in the wrong position. I've since corrected that (see the photos of it inside my garage) but they were such great photos, I wanted to use them! Don't be confused; the rear wiper works fine) European VIN (ebay won't let you enter this) WPOZZZ93ZFS000540On Nov-30-14 at 07:55:42 PST, seller added the following information: *** Added info I've had questions about the factory stickers on the car. I've added additional photos showing the original stickers still on the front sheet metal and hood, as well as receipts and paperwork. Original paint. Additionally (and I didn't notice this until I got my papers out and were reviewing them for this auction) I noticed that I have the original German owners manual with a matching VIN sticker, and a U.S. owner's manual with the "replacement" stamp (which was the original importation book).
