Check out this 1998 Ford Mustang Convertible! As you probably know, the Mustang has been one of the most popular and long-lasting sports cars on the road! With only 62K miles, this V6 Convertible deserves your attention. This Mustang was traded it at a new-car dealership in Michigan and I purchased the vehicle from them. We have driven it for the last 80 miles or so and it runs and drives pretty nice for a vehicle of its year and mileage. This Mustang features the 6-cylinder engine that runs strong with respectable fuel economy and the easy to drive automatic transmission. Mechanically, this Mustang is in good condition. The engine runs strong with plenty of power, no abnormal noises, and is smooth both idling and accelerating. The automatic transmission shifts through all of the gears smoothly with no issues. The drivetrain is strong and feels like it has plenty of life left. I had this Mustang parked inside for a couple of days and did not notice any leaks on the ground where this Ford has been sitting. The brakes stop the car efficiently, straight, and smooth. While driving the steering components appear to be in good shape, tight and straight. The suspension appears to be in decent shape and holds the road nicely with no noticeable or abnormal noises. This car drives like you would expect with 62K miles. The tires are all matching and in decent condition nearly new Falkin 205-65-15 mounted on factory alloy wheels that are in decent shape (see pics). The spare tire is present. The LF wheel is missing a center cap - you can find replacements here on eBay for about $10. The vehicle drives straight down the road. There is a very very slight vibration above 55 MPH but not that bad at all. Overall, this vehicle drives quite nicely for its age and mileage. The climate control works on this Mustang blows air on all blower levels and wherever you want it to (vents, defroster, etc). The heat is hot and works well, but I haven't tested the A/C (it's been too cold lately). The Mustang is equipped with AM/FM/CD/Cassette that is in good working condition and sounds good. There are no check engine lights or other warning lights on the dash and there have not been any throughout my ownership. All of the dash gauges read properly and there are no abnormal readings. The power top appears to be functioning as designed and there's a tonneau cover in the truck (haven't tried to put it on but it looks OK). As with any 15+ year old vehicle, there are small little issues here and there that I've noticed like the power locks aren't really working (they don't unlock and struggle to lock the car), the driver's side parking light doesn't work (the turn signal does..may be a bulb issue I haven't checked), and the hood latch takes a little playing with to get it up (I can show you how I do it). Cosmetically -- the body and exterior look pretty nice. The Autocheck shows its a 2-Owner / 0-Accident car, but the hood and lights don't exactly line up perfect. There's a dent in the passenger fender, a couple small dents on the top of the truck deck lid, and some rust behind the rear wheels - I've tried to capture these defects in the pictures below. The paint is a little faded but would probably come back with a good polishing/detail. The paint is a little cracked on the front bumper and scratched on the rear but nothing unusual. The driver's side mirror is missing part of the glass (cracked). It's been a driver's car, so please expect some small dents and scratches with age but nothing unusual. It looks nice, but isn't show quality. The convertible top is in nice shape with no rips or tears - when I washed the car it was a little dripping down the inside of the passenger window but that's the only water intrusion I noticed. The glass in is good shape all the way around the car. The interior is in nice shape and consistent with being a lower-miles car. There are no rips/tears/burns in the upholstery. A good steam cleaning would likely lift all of the slight areas of discoloration. The only rear negative I can find with the interior is the driver's seat padding is a bit worn. Check out the pictures - they speak for themselves! I have tried to capture both the positives and the flaws in those pictures. Overall, this is a nice low miles example of a fun car that you could be proud to own! I have tried my best to represent this vehicle accurately and to the best of my abilities. Earning and keeping a 100% positive feedback rating is very important to me! I purchase most of my vehicles as trade-ins from new car dealerships as traded. I test drive each vehicle on the expressway and around town for at least 20 miles, often over 100 miles, and use that experience to represent the vehicle to you on eBay. Please remember that you are buying a used vehicle and that a certain amount of wear/use/flaws are to be expected on any used vehicle -- including this one. This is the State of Michigan's rule, not mine...but from browsing eBay $10 is probably the cheapest temp-tag of any state and you will be able to drive your car immediately and legally.
