Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is this 1973 Porsche 914 2 Liter model. This Porsche has been in the dry California climate it's entire life and it shows. It was purchased new from Chick Iverson VW/Porsche of Newport Beach, CA and still retains some of the original paperwork from when it was purchased along with the owners manual and some other items as pictured. This Porsche is dry with no signs of any serious rust and virtually no rust at all. Odometer shows just over 54k miles and I am unsure of the original mileage. All of the usual areas appear to be dry: Battery stand, spare tire well, rockers, floors, etc. This Porsche has been parked and out of daily driver rotation for over 10 years. This Porsche starts and runs, but poorly and as good as you would expect to find on this model after sitting for this time. The engine doesn't knock or appear to have any serious damage. The engine does hang low so it may have issues with the trans mounts, cross bar, or other items. The car was removed about 3 years ago from the garage where it sat for the last 10+ years and new tires and battery were installed and there it sat. The car was painted cheaply years ago and you can see the original paint and color coming through in areas. The body does have some minor bumps and dings, but nothing serious and doesn't appear to ever have had any serious damage any panel replacement done. The rear trunk lid hinge on the drivers side needs to be fixed as it has separated from the body which is a usual issue and a fairly easy repair. The passenger outer door handle is broken or loose so the door will not open from the outside. Most of the electrical appears to work as it should: running lights, door buzzer, tachometer, speedo, turn signals, fog lights, etc. The headlight flip up but the headlight bulbs didn't light up, and the wipers didn't work. Both might be an easy fix for the new owner. Overall the Porsche is solid, complete, and a good start for someone on a budget looking for a project at an affordable and very reasonable price. All parts shown it the pictures are included with the sale as well as current registration and a clear California title. I am not looking for trades or offers.
