Vehicle Detail
1971 Datsun PL510 Vintage Racer2 Door Sedan This Car Runs and Drives Great..Ready to Drive Home! I recently purchased this car about three months ago from my neighborHe raced Datsun 510's in the 80's and purchased this one after his racing days approx. 25 years agoWith the intentions of making it another racer, it just sat in his garage for 25 years, occasionally driving and tinkering with itI've put just over 1000 miles on it, driving it almost dailyIt takes premium gas (93 Octane) according to the previous ownerThis appears to be originally a California car-There is a gold emmissions sticker under hood and a factory sticker on glassStill have two original Datusn Keys, and Owners ManualJust about everything works...electrical and mechanicalIt hasn't left any signs of anything leaking in my driveway either! All of the exterior and interior lights work, including dome lightGauges, Turn Signals, and Flashers all work including the factory TachometerWorking heat/defrost and side ventilationWindows and doors fully functionalHeadliner and sun visors are in nice condition, but a little dirty on the perimeterAll door, trunk, and fuel door locks workI have one "Datsun" emblem in gloveboxWorking Parking BrakeFloor and Trunk mats in good conditionAll of the Glass Looks to be original and in nice conditionWindsheild wipers work..but I couldnt get them to spray the fluidTires/Rims are in good condition, still have plenty of tread and hold airComes with a spare tire and jack kit too Feel free to ask and questions, keep in mind my knowledge on this car is pretty limited The only thing I have done to this car is replace the spark plugs This car has a few modifications, while most of it is still original Modifications:The 1.6 L was replaced with a 2.0 L (L20B-U67)Weber Carburetor w/ K & N Air FilterVintage Boeing Aircraft Lights (one for the Speedometer and one next to visor w/red light)Original steering wheel replaced with a Personal Brand F-1 Racing Leather Wrapped WheelSet of Stewart-Warner GaugesFront Seat Vintage Competion Quick Relase Lap Belts (No Shoulder Restraints)The rear view mirror replaced with a 5-Panel Rally style mirrorThe side view mirror is also not originalWorking Cigarette Lighter SocketWorking Radio/CD player w/ Rear SpeakersAs far as I know thats if for the modifications... Front Disc Brakes, Rear Drum BrakesFully Independant Suspension2.0 L Nissan Engine4-Speed Manual SuspensionCopper Radiator (looks original) The frame looks really solid on itAll of the body panels feel solid, and i couldnt find any globs of body filler on the inside panels or wheel wells The sheet metal on under carriage is mostly solid However the driver floor board is bad, and the passenger side looks like is has some sort of fiberglass reinforcement applied from the inside of the car. I put aluminum tape strips to reinforce the drivers side from caving inAlso the muffler needs to be repaired/replaced...I wrapped aluminum tape around the part where it was split, which has held up for the most partThe bottoms of the rear wheel wells are probably the worst part of the carThey are solid except for the bottom 2-4 inches on both rear quartersAlso the rocker panels on both sides are pretty roughYou can tell there has been a repair between the taillights, showing primer under d.s. tail light It had been repaired ...or a repair was attempted, it still looks rough Under the middle body line, you can tell there has been some work done to itIt has an odd ripple look to it under the paint... definitely not original **Regarding Mileage-Please Read** This car shows approx. 89,500 miles on it, however it is possible that it is 189,500. This is unlikely though because with the car is a copy of an original invoice for an inspection & general maintenance. This document is dated 07-25-1989. At that time the milage was 78,422. That was right about the time my neighbor purchased the car...so it would make sense that he put 10,000 miles on it. Also since there was a new motor put in it, on the title I wrote n/a (not actual) Please set up an appointment prior to bidding on this car, If you have any questions, PLEASE ask!! NO WARRANTY, GUARANTEES or REFUNDS so ask before you bid.
