For sale is an American Icon car at an affordable price. This 1955 Ford Thunderbird convertible was recently acquired from the longtime previous owner where it was stored outdoors for the last 10 years. The car is a great car to either restore or drive as is with minor work and restore it as you drive and enjoy it. As I said, it has been sitting for the last 10 years, but it is complete in every way, we basically cleaned the fuel tank, changed the fluids and she started right up. It runs, drives and stops, however we did not go through the brakes so you should go through them before taking it on the road. Since it was sitting outside, the paint is totally shot. It is peeling and flaking off on all of the flat surfaces. A lot of the chrome and trim will need rechroming and/or polishing. All glass is good and the interior is not bad. It has minor rust in the rear quarter and front fender as well as some in some of the seat braces, all patch panels are readily and inexpensively available however. Overall, this is a nice American classic that can be bought reasonably and with very minor work can be roadworthy while you restore it, or leave it the way it is for that barn found type of survivor look that is so popular nowadays.
