Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1995 BMW 325is. I originally purchased this 325is/M3 clone to convert to a track day car, but ended up using it as my daily driver for about 3 years. The car is high mileage but in good overall mechanical shape, runs great and all systems function as intended. I relied upon it daily with no issues, it always starts and runs great and it would continue to work great as a daily driver (I recently purchased an E46 M3 and just don’t really drive this car anymore). Given the upgrades it would also be a perfect candidate for a track day car. Please don’t expect the car to be free of issues, it is 19 years old. Some of the noteworthy features are as follows and known problems are listed further down the page. · M3 Vader seats· 17” M3 Wheels· H&R race springs PN 50424.88: 2” drop front, 1.3” drop rear· EWS delete chip stage 1 M50 413 ECU· BMW dealer-sourced carbon fiber deck lid (original cost was $2100)· 2.5L straight 6 engine· 5-speed manual transmission· Drilled and slotted front rotors with BMW brake pads· Anthracite gray rubberdip coating on body and wheels (see dipyourcar dot com for details. This coating simply feels off the car when you want to change color or expose the actual paint. Paint is black and in good shape for its age, there s some clear coat peeling on the roof )· Rust free car (lives in Colorado)· Spare set of 15” wheels and tires (tires are worthless)· Spare sunroof motor· See Edmunds.com for factory specs (i.e. traction control, ABS, etc) This is a high mileage car and it does have its imperfections. I've purchased a few cars on eBay and I hate when I get surprised in a bad way by the actual product so I've done my best to detail known issues, which are as follows: · Hood release cable is broken. The hood is opened via two pulls located in the front grill (see pics)· The car has a couple small oil leaks. It won’t puddle but will leave drips here and there, never enough to really affect the oil levels if the oil is changed regularly.· The body is in great overall shape. Issues are as follows: The sheet metal around the right taillight is a bit rippled (see pics), there is a very small ding above the right rear tire (see pic), the lower front air dam has a split (see pic with zip tie). The original black paint underneath the rubberdip coating is in good overall shape but the clear coat is peeling on the roof)· Rear tires are worn and will need replacement in the next few thousand miles (front tires are great)· I only have one key (never bothered to order a spare as was planning to gut the car for racing. I was told the car has keyless entry but again I never bothered to get the $150 keyless entry key from the dealer)· The interior is all intact but less than perfect (i.e. the door cards are rough, interior panels have scuffs and are less than perfect, driver’s seat has a two inch separation in one of the seams. Repair is to sew the seam but I never bothered)· Sunroof functions intermittently. (I suspected a bad motor and installed a replacement but problem persisted. Suspect that it needs a new switch)· A/C works but blows air in the low 50 degree temp range. To get it into the 40s it will need a recharge.· As mentioned above, I installed a stage one performance chip. HP is bumped 18 but it also triggers the check engine light. If the light is an issue for anyone, I still have the original factory chip and replacement takes all of 5 minutes.· The rubber muffler hangers need to be replaced (currently wired together)
