Thank you for your interest in my beautiful, daily driver quality, 1955 Corvette. This is 1 of 180 classic Red 1955 Chevrolet Corvette with V8 engine and automatic transmission. The transmission is the original and is numbers matching but the engine is not. However I have identified a period-correct 265 engine with A145 date code (January 14, 1955) that can be purchased for only a couple hundred dollars. Some of the trim is aged, the dash is not correct, and the VIN plate was missing when I bought the car so I had to get an official replacement plate from the State Department of Transportation. The plate presents the actual VIN # . The plate is not a savage or rebuilt/reconstructed plate; it is an official VIN # plate. Other than those issues, this is a great car to drive and to be seen in. I bought the car from the son of the original owner who drove the car only in good weather (no bad weather driving). I am selling the car as a 'daily driver' and as a good candidate for restoration, not a car to be judged in its present condition.I had planned to restore the car myself but as the owner of a large restoration shop and owner of several other NCRS quality Corvettes (60, 65, 80) and the normal day to day issues restoring cars for others, I do not feel I will have the time to restore this car in my lifetime.
