I have put many hours into this bus making it a good reliable westy. I am a certified Jet Engine Mechanic USAF, Aircraft mechanic, licenced pilot and have 20 year experience working with VW buses, maintaining and restoration. The motor is great running and smooth idle, no smoke, very strong. I have rebuilt the motor with new bearings seals gaskets. New Spark Plugs, Wires, and electronic ignition. Fresh Oil, Transmission Fluid. The heater channels are all in great condition, the heat is not installed but all original parts are included in this sale. All of the Motor tins are freshly painted and complete. The motor is an original Duel Carborated model, both carborators have been cleaned and freshly rebuilt, with original aircleaner. New Accel cable has been installed. Brakes have new Master Cylinder New Brake Lines New Calipers New Pads. The tires are in good condition and have good tread on them. Both CVs and all wheel bearings have been freshly packed with grease. All lights and turn signal bulbs are new. The only missing part of the bus is the ashtray, and has been replaced with a peice of sheetmetal. The rear screen has no holes and the hammock and childs cot are both tight and firm. The original floor has no water damage and is in excellent condition. The original curtains are in good shape for being 42 years old. The sink has a clean water tank and works great. The ice box is clean and all seals good. The pop up tent is in good condition and has been patched in both corners, all of the rubber lock handles are still in working shape. Luggage rack is clean and no holes in the roof, 2 small sections of the water channel have been replaced sealed and painted. The bus is currently setup without heat, the sale includes heater parts original to the bus and in good condition. The suspension is solid and rides great, drives like a typical bus. Rims have been freshly painted. The few fixables i am leaving for the new owner include a small stitch on the driver seat, the windshield has a small crack. The rear bumper has a small dent but adds to the look and character of the bus so i didnt change it. If it were me i would drive the bus the way it is and not change a thing. I lightly attached the VW emblem because i figured the new owner would want there own. The Bus Runs and Drives great gets many looks driving down the road, i cant tell you how many times i have given the peace sign. Extra Parts Included in this Auction I have accumlated many extra parts over the years and thought it would be good to include all of the 1.7 parts with this sale. Even though this bus is complete and running, these extra parts are all in good condition and would make excellent extra parts to help maintain your bus for a very long time.
