Vehicle Detail
Thank you for viewing my 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T with the big, numbers matching 440 cubic inch powerplant mated to a smooth automatic transmission. It is a beautiful, very original, nicely documented example of one of the great, asphalt-thirsty, throaty beasts of the muscle car era. This car is everything you would want and expect in a double-caffeinated dose of American iron built on a philosophy of style and speed and raw power. It is a numbers matching, predominantly original example of a Coronet R/T that is ready to get into and enjoy. It will definitely get your blood pumping and will make pedestrians stop and take notice. And it is factory A/C equipped! I have owned and collected classic cars for the last 26 years, beginning with the 1969 Dodge Charger I bought when I was sixteen, and which I still own today. I still own my 2nd car as well, a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am, which I drove from my senior year in high school through to my second year of graduate school in the department of English at the University of Central Florida in Winter Park, FL. So my passion for classic cars -- and especially Mopars -- has been a lifelong pursuit and is about the most fun I can imagine having. I am an Oxford-educated motorhead that's been car crazy since bell bottoms were in style the first time around. And because I love to find, own, drive and collect all kinds of classic cars, there comes a point when I have to sell a few of them to keep my collection manageable, or else they all don't get exercised like they should. This is one of those times. My collection has expanded to about two dozen cars, when really, if I am totally honest with myself, I should get it down to about twelve so that I have the time to drive and enjoy them all. I am a firm believer that cars should and need to be driven. And when I can't drive them all enough, I go through the painful process of letting a few of them go on to new owners that will hopefully get out there and drive them more than I have time to. As you can see, I have other cars listed for sale; and before its all said and done, there will be about ten up and available. The R/T is numbers matching and largely original. It has been repainted in the original factory medium green metallic, which is relatively rare and really striking. And it is in spectacular condition. I have included scanned images of the fender tag decoding in my flickr set of photos, so please have a look at them to get a better idea of the Mopar machine you are looking at. I have also included photos of the block number and VIN tag to confirm that they do match. The A/C is all there, but to my knowledge isn't working. A/C isn't a big deal in the northeast, so I never looked into it, but if you'd like it fixed before taking delivery, I could certainly take care of it. Here are links to many more photos plus 3 videos taken of the car in the last two weeks: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97286492@N06/sets/72157647563693309/ The first video shows the car when I've just started it. Its at high idle, warming up nicely: http://youtu.be/EADQjba9j8o This one shows it all warmed up and a steady idle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj9xPomUh6k&feature=youtu.be And this one is a casual walkaround of the Coronet, showing off the beautiful paintwork, trunk, etc: http://youtu.be/NDIMtAWc940 And if you have a classic car that you think I might be interested in, that might work too. Let's see if we can make something happen.
