**THIS IS A TRUE NO RESERVE AUCTION** -THE HIGHEST AND LAST BID WILL WIN THE CAR! -PLEASE CALL/TEXT/EMAIL ME IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN BUYING THE CAR BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS! WARNING: If you do not like speed, exclusivity, attention, and monster horsepower than this car is not for you! Up for sale is my very unique 2009 Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG roadster. Whenever this car was new, it had an MSRP of nearly $150,000. This car is presented with a Diamond White exterior and Berry Red Nappa leather interior. This is not your ordinary SL63. In standard form, the SL63’s 6.2-liter V8 develops 518 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 465 pound-feet of torque at 5,200 rpm. This particular car has been fitted with Kleemann’s Stage 2 power package. The package includes a set of exhaust headers, downpipes, high flow cats, and ECU tune. According to Kleemann, this package adds approximately 70 horsepower and 55 pound-feet of torque. The K&N air filters add approximately 5 horsepower/torque and the air box mod adds approximately 10 horsepower and 5 pound-feet of torque for a total of 603 horsepower and 535 pound-feet. Besides the extra power that these modifications add, the other great benefit from it comes in the form of responsiveness. The throttle response is now instant, there is zero lag in acceleration. It really wakes up the engine/transmission and makes the car feel lively and on edge. To say that this car sounds angry would be an understatement. Let’s think Jaguar F-Type V8S and then inject it with steroids. At idle the exhaust sound has a deep/low lumpy noise. Cruising around two is completely enjoyable and the exhaust volume is nicely subdued while still having an aggressive nature to it. Once you plant your foot down on the accelerator, it’s a different story. It has a glorious high pitched wale that only an AMG M154 engine is capable of producing. The bark emitted from the exhaust during downshifts is crisp and intoxicating. There is now a noticeable pop/crackle from the exhaust just like the V8 F-Type when letting of the gas during aggressive driving. Driving with the top down only intensifies this symphony and will literally make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. In short, a standard SL63 sounds good. This Kleemann modified SL63 sounds extraordinary and you’ll find yourself grinning from ear to ear each time you jump in the car. If you are looking for an SL63, I’m sure that you’ve considered an SL55 as well. All I can say about that, is don’t! The SL55 is a fine car, there’s no doubt about it. When compared to an SL63, there is no contest. The biggest difference between the car other than the engine is definitely the transmission. The SL55 uses an ancient 5-speed Speed Shift transmission that is extremely sluggish and slow to respond. The MCT “Multi Clutch Technology” in the SL63 is a stunning gearbox. It can shift gears in just 100 milliseconds and also has a Race Start function more commonly known as Launch Control. This feature will give you breathtaking launches with almost zero wheel spin. Around town the gearbox is a joy to use. There is zero jerkiness found here unlike the DCT found in a GTR. That car is a chore to drive every day. This MCT transmission completely transforms the car and makes it for much more lively and exciting compared to the SL55 which feels like a fast boulevard cruiser. I have owned an SL55 that was equipped with the P030 Performance Package and the suspension on that car doesn’t compare to the buttoned down and racy feeling updated suspension in the SL63. It is comfortable and compliant for daily driving and nailed down with a glued to the road feel during spirited driving. Here is an excerpt from highly recognized automobile magazine about the SL63 “Let's cut to the chase. The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is a quantum leap forward from the old supercharged SL55. Where the SL55 felt like just a faster version of the standard SL, the SL63 feels like a totally different animal. The sound, for example, is nothing less than riotous. Blip the throttle at a standstill and the exhaust crackles angrily. It's sensational, as if this engine has been tuned by people who spend their weekends watching V8 racecars. (Almost true, as AMG is involved with the creation of the Mercedes-Benz racing cars for the DTM series.)” It has all of the amenities you’d want from a $150,000 supercar. Some of the notable features include heated and cooled seats, massaging seats (yes, they give you a massage while driving), panoramic glass sunroof, Harmon Kardon sound system, Sirius satellite radio, Air Scarf system (blows hot air on the back of your neck), and keyless entry with push button start to name just a few. This is truly a supercar that you can drive every day of the week without feeling worn out each time you’re done driving it. All in all, I have really enjoyed my time with this vehicle if you couldn’t tell. However it is time for me to move on to a now project. All the maintenance has been kept up to date and the car currently needs nothing except for a new home. It has never been smoked in or abused. I own this vehicle free/clear and have the title in hand for a quick transaction. There is NO lean/loan against this car. I can assist with the logistics in getting this car shipped to you if you’re from out of state. Please feel free to call me at (412) 260-5877 anytime from 8am-8pm and I’d be more than happy to talk with you about it.
