Vehicle Detail
If Fairlanes are your bag then it doesn't get any better than this unless you can afford the big dog (meant for the track only) R code 427. This is a real "S" code (S-code 390GT engine: 335hp, 11.0:1 compression, and a Holley four-barrel atop 390 snarling cubic inches) GTA in its original color Ember Glo (very rare color). It retains its orig engine, orig 14 bolt GT heads (with orig chrome valve covers), orig intake and orig GT exhaust manifolds. It also still has its orig 9" rear. It even still has the orig "390" engine tag under the coil! It is just out of a fresh top to bottom restoration and looks awesome! It was sold new in Garland Texas at Courtesy Ford and spent the last 20 yrs stored inside an airplane hanger in Dallas. The paint (top and bottom side) are fresh. The gas tank, tires, windshield and exhaust system are new. It even still has its original jack and tire iron! The only rust the car had was the front 2 floor pans (previous owner left wet carpet in it for 20 yrs) and I changed them out and you cant tell it was done. The orig hood with the 390 callouts is still with the car and looks great. I added the blackout on the hood and painted the bumpers to give it a racier look. The carpet, seat covers, dash and headliner are all new. The orig front and rear door panels where cleaned up and re-dyed to match. I also restored the orig steering wheel to finish off the interior. The orig engine was rebuilt with new rings and bearings. It did not need boring. The C6 trans is also completely rebuilt and resealed with a new torque converter. The entire power steering system was rebuilt. The pump, steering box, control valve and hyd cylinder were all gone thru and brought back to proper standards and works great. It is also an AC car but the previous owner tossed all the under the hood stuff. Fortunately big body, big block fords with AC are abundant and all the under the hood stuff can be sourced and replaced. I DID completely disassemble the AC box under the dash, clean it and replace the heater core and the evaporator core tested good. This car is ready for cruizin! (little boy not included). I have done my best to describe this car but there is no accounting for individual taste. As usual winning bid is NOT an invitation to inspect but a legally binding contract to purchase. This car is available for inspection anytime prior to auction ending. I urge any interested parties to either inspect car themselves or send someone to act as their agent. YOU WIN THE AUCTION I EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE CAR. This car is sold without warranty. 20% non-refundable down pymt due 7 days after auction end. Vehicle must be picked up within 3 weeks or storage charges will apply.
