Very nice car that I restored about 15 years ago and then sold to my brother-in-law, Bob. The restoration work involved the following: professional rust repair and repaint, complete brake job, new timing belt, tensioner, water pump, battery, tires, fuel pump and hoses, convertible top, carpeting, dash cover, sheepskin seat covers, seat belts, etc. Unfortunately, Bob passed away back in May and my wife and I inherited his cars. During Bob's ownership, the car was garaged and driven sparingly (about 5000 miles or so.) There are no signs of rust anywhere on the car and the paint still looks great. I just had a garage go over the car and it got the following: new fuel tank, filter sending unit and pump, new timing belt, tensioner, water pump and window switch. I did the timing belt because I was not sure about when it was last done and these things should be changed out every 25k or 5 years, whichever happens first. The car should be ready to enjoy for many years to come. These cars are simple to work on and parts for them are cheap and plentiful. Essentially, it's the old Fiat 2000 Spyder that Fiat stopped selling in the US in 1982. The updated Pininfarinas got leather seats, air con, electric windows and a nice stereo. The car basically looks just like it did when I shipped it to Bob in 1999. Bob installed a nice Blaupunkt stereo, an Ansa sport exhaust and new catalytic converter. I have been driving it ever day since 10/15 - the car runs and drives great and is a really fun car!!! It gets comments and complements everywhere I go!
