Vehicle Detail

1980 Mercedes 300TDT Wagon with VERY Low Miles - 20K on factory engine 20,000 miles on a NEW FACTORY CRATE ENGINE. The engine is NOT rebuilt or overhauled, but is a new, complete factory engine. Runs like a sewing machine. Receipts available. Total miles - 136,000. All records from new available. It was purchased from the estate of an elderly gentleman who took meticulous care of this incredible vintage Mercedes. The paint is original and has an excellent sheen. There are no dents. A few (very few) paint touch-ups have been made, but you must look very carefully to see. All chrome is absolutely perfect. There are no chips, dents, or oxidation. This is unusual for a car of this age. Dash is perfect, with no cracks or blemishes. Carpet is excellent, with no tears or stains. Engine and engine bay look like new. New tiresSun roof Wheels are original and have not been repainted. Troublesome electronic Servo has been replaced by digital controller system (better than original). AC/heating system, all power windows, lights, door locks, rear wiper are all working. 3rd seat - very desirable ALL Mercedes books, maintenance records provided. First Aid kit never opened. Roadside emergency flairs OEM Tool kit - outstanding, never used. Spare tire and jack appear as though they have never been used. Split rear seats, one third and two thirds - this was an option Cross bars included - removable - rare and highly sought All five removable headrests (2 in front, 3 in back). Biofuel has never been used in this vehicle These 123 wagons have been referred to as "tanks." They are extremely well-designed and of high quality, typical of Mercedes with outstanding crash protection and other safety features. There was not a great deal of recent work done because the car was so well-maintained. The following, however, have been completed to make it nearly perfect: Windshield replaced Rear suspension system, i.e., air cells and supporting equipment replaced Front door seals/gasket. Transmission serviced AC servicedNew rear brakes This non-smoking, senior-owned California car was always garaged. There is NO RUST. This is a non-turbo 300TDT which has plenty of power and is preferred by many enthusiasts over the later turbo models. A few minor issues: Driver's seat bolster has been repaired; slight wear on the very top of the spare tire cover; a couple of the original pin stripes have worn off; and cruise control seems to have a mind of its own, working sporadically. Recent driving history - records indicate that between April, 2001 and March, 2014, it was driven only 12,000 miles.More pictures available upon request. Health issues force this sale. This 1980 300TDT is one of the cleanest, best-running, and nicest that you will find. This is a unique opportunity to own a “like new” Mercedes classic. With proper care and maintenance, this beauty will run for another 35 years. A pleasure to drive. Feels and runs like a new Mercedes. This model is appreciating and highly desired. One in this condition is very difficult to find. On Oct-11-14 at 20:22:03 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED.
