1972 Mercedes Benz 350SL (4.5 liter engine). Desirable first year car, low serial number (#2026). 99000 original miles. The "small bumper" cars of the 350/450SL series are the ones to have, very few of the first year car are badged as the 350SL, adding to the uniqueness of this particular car.A California car it's entire life. Current California license plates included with car (good until end of year). Zero rust, very very clean underside. Ownership history traced back to late '70's. First owner said to be Bing Crosby but not verified. Female second owner into her late '70's. Crosby was said to have ordered a repaint in current silver color from original dark grey. Paint has faded on hood over time and dulled with a few scratches and nicks here and there, otherwise car is excellent. Excellent chrome and trim. Original Mb-tex interior is excellent. Soft top is in very good condition. Hardtop is excellent, Recent service (with receipts) includes front sub frame bushings (any 350 or 450SL over 70000 miles will need this repair, so beware of others), upper A arm bushings, new brake pads, calipers, and rotors, new exhaust including middle and rear mufflers, 4 brand new correct size 205x70x14 Kuhmo tires. Runs smooth and straight, effortless driving. Just back from 600 mile trip, zero issues. Car has AC, but not working. Optional alloy Fuchs wheels, AM/FM Blaupunkt radio. Other extras include car cover, plush lambs wool seat covers, hardtop stand, and tool kit. No reserve! Someone is going to get a deal. I need the space.
