1978 VW BUS TRANSPORTER TYPE 2 With a little restoration and tender-loving care, this vintage VW Transporter type-2 will be ready for fun! The Good:Runs and drives, recently replaced all four brakes, new calipers and brake lines and hoses, new shocks all around, new spark plugs and wires. Had a Porsche dasher motor put into it in 2001. All original except the motor. Interior is in pretty good shape just needs a good cleaning. The bus was bought new by my grandfather and given to me. It was undercoated so the rust underneath is not too bad. Original paint. Clear title. The Bad:The bus will start fine if the battery is charged or jump started, but the battery won't hold a charge so probably needs a new alternator. As you can see it does have some rust spots. Most is just surface rust and wouldn't be much of an issue. It was stored inside for 15 years and driven daily. For the last 8 years has been sitting unused and rarely run. Will need new tires due to dry rot. All in all it's a fun vehicle with lots of potential. In the right hands and with a little TLC you could be cruising in this classic beauty! No international sale.
