Vehicle Detail
This is a great truck for anyone who wants a classic in great shape. This 1987 Chevrolet R10 combines the last model year of the square body style with the first year when Fuel Injection (TBI) was available for Chevy trucks. The SILVERADO trim was the top of the line. Base model started at $8,503, MSRP for my truck back in 1987 was $ 13,795 + tax. So she comes fully loaded including the rare dual fuel tanks. I bought this truck from the 1st owner, a 84 year old lady who couldn‘t drive it any longer due to osteoporosis. The truck was and is 100% original, unmolested, never repainted, accident free and has no rust. I decided to keep it in this rare condition but nevertheless replaced all necessary mechanicals to make it safe and reliable. Unless otherwise stated I used only OEM GM / AC Delco parts All liquids, filters, spark plugs etc have been periodically changed. Mechanicals have been renewed during the last less than 5000 miles as follows. - new electrical fuel pumps (2) in both tanks - new fuel selector valve incl new flexible fuel lines all around - new front brakes incl disks, bearings, pads and brake lines (NAPA) - new rear brakes incl shoes, cylinders, springs and oil seals - new gas shock absorbers all around (KYB) - new transmission fluid and filter - rebuilt governor - new drive belts (NAPA) - radiator opened and cleaned by professioell radiator shop, cooling system flushed - new radiator hoses (NAPA) - new temperature sensor (Advanced AP) - new vacuum lines all around (NAPA) - new distributor cap, rotor, ignition wires - new starter motor - new 630 CCA HD battery (Advanced AP) - new 94 amp generator (Advanced AP) The dashboard has no cracks. Because after 25 years the interior showed signs of wear I installed a new HQ carpet and bench cover from LMC. In addition I replaced all charcoal interior parts by OEM burgundy ones. All the original charcoal colored parts from door panels to headliner come with the truck. The engine is dry and runs smoothly with just 105,000 original mls on the odometer. No oil leaks, no exhaust smoke. The transmission shifts smoothly, the AC is blowing ice-cold. Everything is working mechanically and electrically as intended from the factory. Fat 235/75 tires were new when I bought the truck. The truck still has the original jack and tool kit, the spare tire carrier, the bed mat with GM logo and the burgundy floor mats with GM logo in excellent condition. If there is anything to complain then that both SILVEADO script plates have fallen off the fenders due to broken bolts. You will get one replacement script from me. This truck is 27 years old and due to its age has a couple of small scratches, nicks etc. Also the color has faded over the years. So please don‘t expect it to look like new. Otherwise it is ready to drive you anywhere. Sold as is. Cash or Cashier‘s Check only. On Sep-30-14 at 05:38:23 PDT, seller added the following information: My truck does come with the rare original UM6AM/FM Stereo Rad w. Seek, Scan, Stereo Cass, Clock. MSRP for this option in 1987 was $ 429 and it works!. I also added a photo that lists all the included options with rpo# and price. In addition you find another photo of the carfax summary when I bought the truck in 2012. In a range from 29 - 53 my truck has got the Carfax rate 64.
