Vehicle Detail
For your consideration: 1998 BMW 323i convertible. Black over tan. Automatic, cruise, a/c, power windows & side mirrors, am/fm/Cass/6 disc changer, factory alloys shod with Continental 225/50zr16's, leather, 166.8k miles. Purchased for my wife in 2012 as a weekend vehicle, this car has seen limited service, spending most of its life in our garage over the last few years. We've taken several 300+ mile trips with it though, and it has performed well. The car will be due for a state inspection (NC) in Oct, but there is no check engine light issues and tire treads range from 3/32nds-8/32nds, all within tolerance. The car is entirely serviceable as is, but the following will require attention: -Convertible top inop: Top and tonneau motors both operational, but have been unable to sync. As I had the availability of a garage, I manually lowered in summer and left that way until fall. New owner may elect to repair or convert to full manual operation, a conversion that other 3 series owners have undertaken -Audio system inop: Has worked sporadically, in which case radio, cassette and disc changer all sound great...factory Harmon Kardon set-up. Could be a short, though I haven't spent time to trouble shoot. -A/C inop: Compressor operates. Low 134a perhaps. Worked fine up until spring 2014. -Engine compartment hood lifts worn. I use a telescoping, converted camera monopod. Light & easily stored. BUT not all bad... +Motor runs strong and shifts well. +Top in great shape with a new rear window. Recent cooling system flush and new fill reservoir. +Recent battery. +Interior very good condition, with no major defects or signs of excessive wear. +Misc nicks, scrapes and imperfections, but paint still presents well...great 10 footer, as they say in the collector car trade. Couple of notes: 1)This vehicle IS NOT FOR SALE ELSEWHERE. Bid to own, as the highest bidder takes this home at auction end. 2)Might consider some trades, preferably 3/4 cylinders w/manual shift gearbox. I've been a member of the eBay community since 2001, and during this time I've sold two vehicles--both >$20K--as well as other large ticket items. While my x-net access is somewhat limited during the week, I will check e-mail each afternoon. You may contact me at 252.723.3311 if there are any questions you might wish to discuss directly with me. Additional photos upon request. Please read all terms and conditions before you bid. It's been my good fortune over the years to have had positive selling experiences, and ask only that if you bid, do so with the understanding that it is your intention to purchase the vehicle, as is where is. Thanks for looking.
