Running 40 years old project, numbers matching 4.5 L V8 and AT Trans., Power windows, AC., PS., Convertible Soft/Hard tops. Little history on this Benz, the pervious owner was the second owner, he bought it in 1982 and was his primary vehicle until 1987 then he used it as summer car only. According to the previous owner this Mercedes had been parked since 2002 due to health issues, he drove it couple times here and there. In 2006 the entire car was sanded down to the bare metal and repainted with the newer blue Benz factory color, also replaced all rubber seals and carpet. In 2009 he drove it to a mechanic shop for servicing, tune up, new brakes, new tires, battery, and changing fluids. This Benz registered in WA state and last registration expired in 2010. I picked up this Benz from the previous owner thinking I will restore it as a winter project but some things came up in my personal life so I have to let it go. I just serviced the followings; Serviced tranny fluid, filter, and trans pan gasket. Changed the engine oil and oil filter. Flushed brake fluid, PS fluid, and coolant. This Benz is a running project so you can drive it as is or drive it while you restore it. In the Benz package you will get some good things and some bad things as well remember it is 40 years old Benz. The goods; Great complete running project. Strong engine with compression 155-160 PSI on all 8 cylinders. Fresh engine oil and filter. Fresh brake, coolant, power steering fluids. Fresh tranny service with tranny oil, filter and pan gasket. Newer Brakes, Newer Interstate battery. Newer tune up. Newer carpet and rubber seals. Newer Michelin tires. The Benz NEVER been in an accident, couple dents here and there but nothing major. All chrome pieces are there and in a great condition. No cuts on the seats. No cracks on the dashboard. The bad; Cracked front windshield but not too bad. Soft top has couple cuts (new one is about couple hundred bucks). Hard top has a broken left side glass window (small side window in the top itself not the driver door window) easy to replace cheap. odometer seem to be stuck (I do not think it is accurate miles but very close). Of course rust in common areas but to my knowledge nothing can't be fix.
